I think it is panning out well.

Still far too early though.

Polak appears to be set for a long career as our CHB

and Jack has promised a lot for Coburg.

Have to review again at the end of next season.

I think that he is settling in now even if it has taken a little longer that we wanted but this is just what Simmonds done also.  :pray

So far so good,

Polak would be running 2nd in the B&F

Jack playing better than anyone selected between 8 and 12, and for that matter better than many of the picks before that.

Who was pick 8?

Surely that is the current comparison.

Who knows what the future may bring?

The pies took Ben Reid with pick 8.

Personally was a huge fan of his, but Riewoldt is seriously winning me over as the better player.

Since the start of the season Reid has kinda flat-lined but Riewoldt is frequently performing well and starring at the Burgers

At the draft night last year Ben Reid was used as an example of how we assess potential recruits. The feeling of Francis Jackson was that the boy had talent but was young and very skinny. They then showed stas of various current AFL players that had similar height and weight measurements and the comment was that Reid would be worth a chance but it would take at least three years to build him up enough. Question was could Richmond afford to take on someone who would take that long given our current list

What I liked about Reid was his potential and athleticism which is something we have been trying to build, but definitely agreed that he will take a while to build up sufficiently and would be something that had to be considered

I think "so far so good" - it's worked well for us.

I would reckon Polak is in the top 5 of our B&F. He is only 22 so it was a good get.

We were always going to take Reiwoldt with our first pick so it would appear we got what we were after on both fronts.

Still too early to tell but looking good so far. Two KPPs that the club can build around. We also gave up a 3rd round pick as well which the Bombers used to get Bachar Houli. So Jack and Polak will be compared to Reid and Houli.

Anyone reckon Terry can nab Sampi and turn his career around?

Umm i don't underatand , don't most young players take 3 or more years to reach their peak????
Perhaps i am missing something but it seems strange not to consider this reid character due to him taking a few years to develop..

As for the deal , looks like we might end up doing ok out of it but that is at least partly due to luck and this type of deal
should not be repeated..

Polak looks the goods. Could well be a 10 year tiger. Got the good end of the stick with this one.
