Party's over for Palace
« on: May 24, 2007, 02:10:04 PM »
St Kilda's Palace entertainment complex is to close next month after a long-running battle over a planned redevelopment of the site.

Not the espy but an icon all the same.

Will allways remember 2 of my favourite gigs of all time there - Faith no more and The Ramones

Nothing like a trip there then to espy or prince and a 4 in the morning pizza - will be missed - RIP

You went to that Ramones gig CUB?
 :bow  :bow  :bow
I saw FNM there also...

My fav gig there was Supergrass about 5/6 years ago, closely followed by a corker of a Midnight Oil gig there.

Yes but did you do the 20 pots thing before that MT?  :whistle

I saw Nirvana there.  31st of Jan 1991.

All time favourite gig.

And I used to frequent "Twister" and met plenty of ladies in that place.   ;D

Apparently Port Phillip Council was going to use it in some capacity for 12 months before it got taken down.

If that is true it makes it very suss.

Yep. It was deliberately lit. The fire started in several places.
