go Blues
« on: June 03, 2007, 05:25:53 PM »
saw on the channel 7 broadcast that they are a couple goals up. Hopefully they get up and put us a step closer to the number 1 draft  :thumbsup

BTW who many games do they need to win to miss out on the priority pick

A win and a draw is good enough too. 4 and a half wins and they lose their priority pick.

If we don't win this year but win say 7 next year do we still get a pre-draft priority pick because we are under the limit of total matches won over 2 years

No we don't. The ruling is 8 games over two years provided you win no more than 4 games in each of the two seasons. If Carlton get 4 wins they will receive the priority pick ahead of us 4.5 and it is ours. It pains me to say it but go Blues for at least 1.5 more wins.

Carlton got up, playing a fantastic brand of footy. Attacking direct hard at it footy. Pity we dont do the same. Matthew Kreuzer welcome to Punt Road.

Would prefer Cotchin or Grimes though as there is a dearth of talented ruckman available between picks 15 to 30. Could pick up Bellchambers and McEvoy with our most likely priority pick and 2nd rounder.

Result being a class inside midfielder and two excellent and importantly LEGIT ruckman

Brief rundown of some players

Kreuzer - This years Leunberger. Super ruck prospect with excellent athleticism and skills for a big man.

Cotchin - Similar player to Murphy as a smart inside midfielder. Maybe not as a good a reader of the player but even better foot skills

Grimes - Great inside midfielder prospect. Not your modern day athlete but is a great size and runs all day and has a brilliant ability to find the ball in close. Cool head under pressure, great leadership skills and great skills.

Masten - Hard running and talented but sometimes laconic midfielder from WA. Played the champs last year and was impressive but being a WA boy probably wouldn't risk him.

Meyer - tall athletic and modern day HBF. Great skills, brilliant pace and leap, reads the play well and can take games apart.

Bellchambers - Forward cum ruckman with a good rucking ability. Has a big body and is a crash and bash type of player. Also has very strong hands making him appealing up forward.

McEvoy - Excellent ruck prospect IMO. Good height and build, extremely athletic and mobile and terrific skills for a big man. Also very versatile and can swing forward back and through the mid. Would luv him at Punt Rd

I also want to see Cale Morton. But Kreuzer could play key forward. Cotchin is very good also but we have to wait and see the championships to get a better idea. I for one am hoping we can do a deal to get another top 10 pick. Would Port go for Schulz and Meyer?
