Royal in no rush

RICHMOND assistant coach Brian Royal calls it the coaching merry-go-round.
He's been on the ride before but isn't sure if he'll have a seat on it this time around.
The director of coaching at Richmond has spent more than a decade as an assistant coach at the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne, Kangaroos and now the Tigers.
Royal, a champion Footscray rover, has missed senior coaching roles at St Kilda, Fremantle and Western Bulldogs.
Asked whether he had put his hand up for the coaching job at Melbourne, where he was an assistant from 2000 to 2003, he said yesterday: "I've been involved in the merry-go-round before and you don't have to put your hand up," he said.
"They (Melbourne) are the ones who will go out and initiate all that sort of stuff.
"From my point of view, if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, life rolls on."
Royal said it was unfortunate Daniher had moved on.
"He is a very good coach and very professional person," he said. "There's no doubt at all that he'll get another job elsewhere."
