Richo - any chance for the Coleman medal?
« on: June 29, 2007, 05:20:36 PM »
Richo is only 9 goals off the leader Fev. Any chance for the Coleman medal with his sidekick Browny back by his side?

Quote
Resurgent Richo

RICHMOND'S charismatic forward Matthew Richardson has firmed from $35 into $21 for the Coleman Medal after his three goals last Friday took his tally for the season to 29 goals, only nine from the leader.

"It's not as if any of the leaders are kicking a lot of goals so it's quite feasible. Obviously if he kicked straighter it would be another story. He could be favourite," TAB Sportsbet's Gary Davies said.

Fevola        38       Favourite
Pavlich       37
B.Johnson  36
Franklin      35       Best outside shot
Lucas         34       Don't think so
Lloyd          31
Richo          29      Smokey. Would rely on great delivery and above to falter slightly.

BTW it looks like its going to be a slow year for the Coleman. No one evens looks like breaking 80 goals

i would love it if Matthew Richardson won the Coleman Medal ... deserves too or deserves one ...

needs to kick straigher if he is a chance ...

Fevola is the favourite ... obviously ... but Richardson needs to start kicking 5/6/7 goals instead of 2/3/4 ...

like Pavlich ... Pavlich is more of a play-maker like Richardson ... Fevola just gets the football and kicks goals ...

Richardson goes up the ground to get the football ...

Around only 65 goals might win it this year.

DOn't think Richo will win it but will likely finish in the top 5

But I am sure he'll win the Club's award (Roach medal) again

If Richo could kick straight he'd be in the lead now. Such a frustrating footballer  :banghead Gotta love him.

Richo needs to have a period of about  or 5 weeks where he is kicking 6 goals on average and he will be a big chance. Similar to the period he had in mid 99 when he kicked  where in 3 weeks in a row he kicked 6+ bags against Fremantle in Perth, W Coast at the G Melbourne at the G.

True HT74. Richo didn't lose ground (still 9 behind) but many of the other contenders ahead of him kicked 4 goals this week.

COLEMAN CHAOS

COLEMAN Medal betting is in turmoil. Recent suspensions to Matthew Lloyd and Anthony Rocca, disciplinary action against Brendan Fevola, the injury concern to Lance Franklin and Barry Hall's form slump are some of the pieces ina tricky puzzle.

"What all this means is that Matthew Pavlich has found himself at the top of the goalkicking ladder and favourite to win the Coleman Medal just through fairness and consistency," Lasseters Sports' Gerard Daffy said.

"It looks like about 75 goals might be enough to win it, so if a big-name player can kick a bag, the betting will be turned upside-down again," Daffy said.

MARKET

$3.25 Matthew Pavlich
$4.25 Lance Franklin
$5 Scott Lucas
$5.50 Matthew Lloyd, Brendan Fevola
$7 Brad Johnson
$21 Matthew Richardson
$26 Jonathan Brown, Scott Welsh

Odds: Lasseters Sports
