Foley's goal (of the week)
« on: June 30, 2007, 11:27:50 PM »
How awesome was Foley's goal  :thumbsup. Waxes away from 2 Saint midfielders at the bounce, swings around and then chucks on the after burners and bang from 50m  :clapping :bow.

Riewoldt's volley goal was spectacular and clever but I'd give Axel goal of the week just for sheer class even if I'm being biased.

I remember thinking that Foley would never make it coz he was too small and wasnt overly fast.

Boy has he improved his game, Foley is the best example of someone who should be captain.

He works his behind off to improve and wont stop until he gets there.

His work ethic is fantastic and players such as Lids and Blinges need to take note, especially Lids.

Foley's goal was a fantastic effort and he deserves everything that comes his way :thumbsup

Foley's goal was one of the best efforts l seen in football
will be judged against the Motlop checkside goal but Foley's had the brillance of a future champion marked all over it

I was in the same boat Bully. Thought he suffer the same fate as Craig Ednie but he's bulked up across the upper body big time yet worked on boosting his pace at the same time. Foles' now getting the rewards from his unbelievable work ethic.

Agree Lakka. Very 95 SF-ish that goal :thumbsup

From the Herald-Sun

Tiger fans saw an emerging excitement machine in Nathan Foley.

In just his 13th game, Foley's 21 disposals, which included eight clearances, were admirable and his two goals on the run were breathtaking.

Less than 60 seconds after an explosive centre break delivered a goal assist to Kayne Pettifer 11 minutes into the first term, Foley burst from the resultant centre bounce, weaved through traffic, took three bounces at blistering speed and split the sticks from 45m to put the Tigers back in front.

Later, a minute after Montagna's goal in the last term had made the difference 16 points, Foley again put on the burners and goaled from 40m to almost get his team back into the contest.

Yes exactly what I mean.  Foley has played 27 games not 13 or were the other 14 just insignificant?

they could possibly be refering to how many games he has played this year, but that would make little sense

Vote for Foley's goal

Nick will have a cry again. He didn't make goal of the week  ;D.

Vote for Foley on the AFL website - http://afl.com.au/markgoal/home.aspx

Jeff Farmer - evaded and dodged opponents in fwd line before leaping pack and kicking

Daniel Motlop - Reverse checkside kick from 50m on the boundary

Nathan Foley - Took ball from centre contest, two bounces and kick from 50m
