Hey I remember in 1998 we couldn't win our away games in the white shorts except for the Adelaide one. If in future wearing yellow shorts in away games means we win I am for it regardless of how ridiculous it looks.
Its very very bright and eyecatching. As I mentioned yesterday beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Wonder how the yellow shorts would look with our away guernsey and would the club be willing to wear them with it when we play Essendon in Round 21 :shh

Yes indeed dee  :gobdrop :gobdrop

Actually do tend to agree with HT74 - would think with our clash strip the yellow shorts would work a bit better than white ones.

Saddest thing it is our home game and even back in the 70's we wore black shorts for home games. If we were the away team then OKi Doki but not as the home team

There's a picture of Rainesy and Joel in the yellow shorts on the RFC website.

The first instance of Richmond wearing yellow shorts can be traced back to May 24, 1975 – co-incidentally against North Melbourne, at Arden Street.

The Richmond team that donned the yellow shorts for the first time, in Round 8 of the 1975 season, was (in alphabetical order): Gareth Andrews, Neil Balme, Kevin Bartlett, Francis Bourke, Dick Clay, David Cloke, Daryl Cumming, Merv Keane, Robert Lamb, Eric Leech, Craig McKellar, Kevin Morris, Billy Nettlefold, John Pitura, Neville Roberts, Kevin Sheedy, Paul Sproule, Ian Stewart, Steve Taubert, Bryan Wood.

The quarter-by-quarter match details were:

Richmond:        1.4       5.9       8.9       9.12  (66)

North Melb:     2.2       3.2       7.5       11.8  (74)

Judging by that One-eyed we will have a commanding lead in a low scoring game at half time. Still lead at 3 quarter time and get run over to eventually lose.

The more I see them the more I like the yellow shorts. They would definentely look better with our away jumper.

:eyebrow

Thanks for that one-eyed! I was certain that I had footy cards with some of our players wearing yellow shorts.
For some reason I thought we wore them longer than stated. I did get to a lot of games that year and I was at Arden St on that first day we wore them. Went with family friends who were North supporters and they had a good chuckle at our expense. Almost "hurled me Hutton's" when the boys ran out!  :chuck The drive home was even more painful because North won and I was in a car full of North supporters.

Did you quote the final score of the 1974 GF tiga to shut them up?  ;D

What's that old Angels song .... Our future shorts are so bright I've got wear shades.

Since the AFL introduced the Heritage Round, have we ever won it?
