He got off on a legal technicality. Apparently with the charge he was on, the judge can't take into account the consequences of the collision ???. As he was driving 40-45 km/r he wasn't speeding and the judge said he couldn't prove beyond doubt that it was driver error.The legal system doesn't take into account what happens to victims .
