Tiger captain Kane Johnson has also been charged with making contact with umpire Ray Chamberlain during Richmond's loss to Sydney. He can accept a $2400 fine with an early plea.

Since when did the umpires become such a protected species?  This rule really is pathetic.  Should be the other way round - the umpires should pay the player concerned for getting in the player's way and affecting the play of the game.  Like MT said, how many pushes in the back did the umpires conveniently not see on Saturday night?  Another stupid rule.

Stuff the early plea! Fight it Sugar. Don't pay the money! Take the suspension out of protest! It would be a win win for the club. You'll be making a statement to the AFL that you're not going to bow to their extortion racket and we might actually win a game with Browny as captain!

It's a big coincidence that Ray Chamberlain is the ump that is involved in these player-ump collisions. He's too bloody small for the players to see him  .

I was actually sympathetic to his cause but upon hearing the above news I have once again found myself
shaking my head in shame and disbelief.

This bloke can't even stand up for himself.

I saw the incident and it is no way,worthy of a $2400 fine.
