Sugar reaches 200 games
« on: August 11, 2007, 10:16:41 PM »
The captain plays his 200th game this week across the nullabor. 104 matches with the Crows and 95 going on 96 with us.

Congrats to Johnno  :clapping.

I'll go first.
It's an indictment on the game, that such a nothing player is able to
run the gauntlet and achieve 200 games  :chuck

we can live with that

everyone knows i am not sugars no1 fan, but against the pies he played with much more leadership and presence. even his handballs were exellent.

all we ask is he plays like that week in week out

but if he is gone by years end as you are suggesting , i wont miss him

but, is this something you know for sure jack, like terry not coaching us next year?

or is it just a gut feeling

i have a slab of crownies here , safe and sound, just waiting to see if what you have said in the past will come true

something tells me terry is going to turn this around and i have a feeling if we play strong footy in the last 3 weeks, sugar will play on next year, not as captain though

I would have been twice as happy if it was his 200th with the crows. If he can make 200 on the back of other players something is really wrong here. it should have stopped at 104. I don't like him and he should never have been given the job. Orange boy at best.  :whistle

Given Sugar's mild case of OP and age (turns 30 in March) it won't be a surprise if he retires. Sugar could had easily missed games this year and not just due to his broken hand. After 200 games, 2 premiership medallions and being able to captain the Club he barracked for as a kid he won't have too many regrets.

being able to captain your side to a wooden spoon is hardly admirable.

I'd say he'd be wanting to stick around and prove the doubters wrong. He has the talent and when fully fit he is genuine contributer. He'd be looking forward to a big pre season and then looking to hit the ground running in round 1.

I definately wouldnt want to finish up if i was him.

Gone at 30??

Unless the OP hits him hard I cant see why he doesnt have another year in him.

Gets tough after that though . . . .

Chaffey developed OP late in his career and that finished him in his late 20s. The Club is nursing Sugar through the remaining games of this season.

Haven't been sugars greatest fan, but that is mainly because he is captain.
Still think he would be of value to the team for another year or 2, provided he is not carrying any lasting injury.
BUT NOT AS CAPTAIN.

LOL @ Sauce  :cheers
