just a question?

can carlton trade priority pick no1?

if they can, i have a feling they will give pick 1 to the eagles as part of teh judd deal and the eagles will pick cotchin with that pick , so i guess we will take kruezer

lets pray to god someone frikken decent ends up in the psd, knowing our luck, we have 1st pick and it will be a pool full of rejects and duds

they can trade no.1 and you'd think it would have to be on the table

They are adamant (well Swann was on SEN) that pick 1 is NOT on the table.

They will not give Kruezner - no way

yeah, if i recall it was the kreuzer cup not the judd cup  ;D

The Hawks top 5

1. Matt Kreuzer.
2. Trent Cotchin
3. Cale Morton (Jarryd and Mitch’s bro)
4. Ben McEvoy
5. David Myers

Boxall indicated that number 5 could be any of a large number of players, which kind of indicates they rate the other 4 as standouts.

Non-negotiables at the draft table

1. On field intelligence, leadership values, putting the team 1st.
2. Good to elite kick of the football (for the position they play, ruckman an exception).
3. Competitiveness/desire to beat opponent and win.

Psychology testing and Beau Dowler

Pelchen spoke about the huge amount of psychological evaluation they do on players before drafting. The Hawks will not draft a player unless they have interviewed them one on one (with the exception of a kid who lives in a really remote area). They also interview at least one of the parents, principals, teachers, teammates and opposition players to get an idea of their character. Went on to say that Beau Dowler has turned out to be extremely introverted (which is severely affecting his football), but that they didn’t pick this up in their pre-draft analysis. Pelchen thought this was due to Beau coming across as confident when surrounded by other young draftees at the AIS, but was extremely shy when put in a football club of grown men.

Well Cotchin's dad doesn't want him to go to the Eagles.

THE father of a top Victorian AFL draftee has expressed concern his son could be drafted to the West Coast Eagles AFL club.

Peter Cotchin, father of star midfielder Trent, told The Courier-Mail he was concerned his 17-year-old boy could land in a dangerous environment.

"It's just the culture of the footy club . . . in the back of your mind you do worry about those things," Mr Cotchin said.

2 things... having a look at Mortons body shape he does look like a kid who will be able to put on weight and 2nd Gourdis's results will put him right in the frame for our 2nd round selection.

From today's Age

Scott Selwood is a half-back who can push into the midfield, who's been tipped to be picked anywhere from late in the first round to the start of the third

http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/next-selwood-on-the-move/2007/10/04/1191091278843.html

Maybe a chance to grab Selwood with our picks 18/19 although Geelong interviewed him yesterday at the draft camp and they have the pick 17.

fpr some reason , i beleive morton is the one to get

cotchin seems smaller and lighter than what they say and is already very unjury prone, forget him

kruezer is too small to be a ruck and will most likely be a kpp but morton has had gr8 results so far in the camp and i rate better than kruezer

lets get morton

atm it looks like its in our interest to close the judd deal on monday... we could get 2 and 3 and get both morton and cotchin or do a deal with the eagles and get something from there. Time strategy is important, maybe we'll get the better return from an early closure to the judd farce.
