Rainesy on Sport 927 today. Richmond had a great win against Collingwood on the weekend. Things will get a lot tougher this week when they take on the West Coast Eagles.

Summary

* Bit of relief and excitement after the win. It's been a very average year so good to have a win over Collingwood. Went to Browny's Waterside Hotel and had a couple of beers. Enjoyed each other's company.

* We set ourselves for a big effort each week but it was friday night and lots of people watching. Go out and enjoy our footy and release the shackles.

* First hands out of the middle and midfield pressure was important - Foley and Tuck. Foley has adjusted to sharking taps from the opposition for the whole year to be #1 in clearances.

* Lids up forward - sure hands, exciting to watch and he's quick. Not sure whether he'll play forward or back this week. Has helped Rainesy out during the year flying back and across to cut out.

* Biggest job - Nick Riewoldt due to his height. Was able to cover his speed and endurance. Good learning curve. Rainesy started to say it was more experimental but then said not experimental but we reckoned he had the leg speed to go with Riewoldt and then try to run off him on the counter. Good experience.

* Sees his form this year as solid without starring. Had some big jobs covering taller opponents due to injuries. Needed more down back but good to play midfield. A challenging year. Learnt a lot out of it.

* Rainesy hasn't spoken to Simmo so not sure where he's at.

* Team heads to Perth tomorrow (Thursday).
