Julie Maddocks, who is lending consultant for Taylored Homeloans, visited the schools on behalf of the sponsors of the Richmond Football Club, Australian Finance Group (AFG).
It is the Richmond Football Club's centenary year and as part of the celebrations, AFG has been conducting an art competition for school aged children across the region. The competition officially closes at 5pm today.
Entries in all categories have been encouraged in either paintings, sculpture or drawing. The subject encouraged children to depict in some way, the Tigers past 100 years.
Junior prizes include team jumper, tickets to the Richmond and Hawthorn clash and prizes for the school or kindergarten, while $2000 cash, team jumper, tickets to the round 20 clash and a 2009 family of four Richmond membership are up for grabs in the senior division.
As an added surprise, when Julie visited the schools in Stawell and Ararat to hand out entry forms for the competition, she also gave small footballs and Richmond centenary caps to students, which were well received.
For students who took time to enter the Richmond Football Club competition, winners will be announced on Friday, June 20.
