Good to see he has finally committed to helping his teammates. Unless i have read it wrongly?

But why else come out to say he is committed to helping now? Was he not helping for the first 4 years of his captaincy?

Yes he was helping, alway has and alway will.

Then why the need to state it now? To reinforce him as captain? Shows the contempt the club has wiith the fans, who they think are idiots.

Don't think this is the first time he has publicly stated this. Are you ready too much into this?

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

My only question is, which is it?

So, what he values most about footy is, that he wants to get the most out of himself
but what he values more about footy is he wants to get the best out of his teamates ..... ?

Fired alright.

The club's is worse for publishing self revealing articles like that and having no idea they did.

Some stupid mofos with jobs down there.

My understanding is while up on the Sunshine Coast they are voting for the leadership group which includes captain & vice captain

This article says he is the captain. If they haven't voted shouldn't it worded a little different? Or has the decision been made and the vote makes no difference  :huh3

He's captain until the moment someone else is voted as captain

Richmond captain Trent Cotchin stood out like a beacon for the Tigers amid the gloom at Adelaide Oval last evening.

Cotchin never stopped trying to lift his team, regardless of Adelaide’s dominance after quarter-time.

He finished the match with a team-high 26 disposals, including a team-high 16 contested possessions, six clearances, six inside-50s, plus a game-high 11 tackles, game-high 33 pressure acts, and a team-high 502 metres gained.

Those 11 tackles took Cotchin’s tackle total this season to 39, which is clearly No. 1 for this category among the Tigers’ playing group, and equal No. 15th overall in the competition.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick singled Cotchin out for praise in his post-game press conference.

“I was happy with the skipper, who battled on . . . the way he put his head down and tried to instil some confidence in the side,” Hardwick said.

He was bloody good in that game especially the way everyone else was getting pack err molested/mugged/mauled.  He was getting out of tackles and won contests that nobody had a right to.

He played a good game and deserves significant credit for the way he played.

Big props to the capt for really playing well this season. Has copped a lot in recent years with the media going "can't handle a tag" and one season wonder with 2012 but he has lead from the front every game so far this season. Seems to really be flourishing with the retroactively awarded brownlow and the attacking fast movement high tackling game plan

Cotchin looked frantic and desperate as usual. Was happy with his effort again.

Looking a better captain this year for sure.

Worse game since the elimination final 2015.

And before anyone says he stood up in the last he couldn't buy a clearance so he went loose man in defence so he could get a kick.

Had his pants pulled all the way down tonight. Absolutely terrible & unacceptable from a captain.   :banghead
