By the Essendon game I get the impression that Hardwick was burnt out and his message was not impacting on the players. He was under pressure to perform and the side was underachieving. The loss to essendon was the straw that broke the camel's back.Hence the tirade at the players.

Retired Richmond great Trent Cotchin has revealed the fallout from Damien Hardwick’s marriage breakdown impacted the club and his own relationship with the coach during the Tigers’ premiership defence in 2021.
In a new book, From the Heart, Cotchin said while he never liked to delve into personal relationships, he stressed it had been a difficult situation for the club to manage, particularly in the early stages.

I'm guessing some people will feel vindication on this topic, and some will feel pretty stupid who constantly claimed it had no impact on the playing group.

Personally I dgaf who he banged or married but the effect was obvious. She was probably the driver in him losing focus
