 In the Central Highlands FNL, triple Richmond premiership captain and Brownlow Medallist Trent Cotchin pulled on the boots for Ballan FNC as they chased their first win in 2024. Cotchin did everything he could in racking up 27 possessions and kicking four goals in the outing, unfortunately Ballan could only manage 5 goals in total, going down to Newlyn FNC 12.10 82 to 5.6 36. Cotchin's appearance was part of the Carlton Draft concept.

“The reason I've got Cotchin at 3 is like the man I've got at 1, he drove a culture reset at his club and drove standards.

“He reinvented himself as a player first and a leader along the way, and I reckon without him, you even wonder what actually happens at Punt Rd to some degree.

“Nine years as captain, three premierships as captain, but so much done behind the scenes to rebuild a club and a culture first. I think he has a massive role in that.

“There were board coups and challenges, and he was the captain the whole way through.

“Without him, I’m not sure what happens. He’s the centrepiece.”

Sam has done a good job there IMO, don't disagree with too much.

Mooney is biased, putting Selwood above Cotch. Selwood walked into a stuffing premiership team ffs. Pathetic.
