Tiger One Hit Wonders

Just wondering how many players we can recall that were one hit wonders for the club.
Two Immediately come to mind, Marty McGrath and Justin Plapp.

Plapp bagged 8 of his 22 goals for the team in his first two games and the remaining 14 were spread over 16 matches and 2 seasons.

Marty McGrath bagged 5 goals on debut and only one more after that in his time at the Tigers.

I'm sure there are plenty more out there that others can recall..

Not sure if he's classed as a one hit wonder but Chris Pym had a day out when we upset reigning premiers Carlton in 1988.

Our all time favourite first round pick Richard Lounder kicking 4 goals on debut leaning against the goalpost.

Ben Hollands kicking the winning goal close to boundary against Freo in Perth.

And of course our coach in his one starring game for Richmond against Essendon in 87 when he got a heap of it and kicked 3 goals lol.

Wayne Peters kicked 4 on debut or something in night match... looked to be a star in the making ...

Justin Murphy kicked 5 on debut, then approx 1 goal 11 behinds in his next 12 games.

Stuart Wigney came from Adelaide in 1995. Had a great start with us even gave Carey a bath on a Monday night in a match we went bezerk against the Roos when we kicked 6 goals in 6 mins. Broke his leg in Sydney in Round 9 on the same day Richo did his knee and never made it back from the abyss.

Terry Keays kicked 7 against the Doggies.

Sure did. Keays also kicked 5 against Collingwood at Victoria Park late in 1991 also.

4 goals on Debut against Carlton in 1995. All on Steve Silvagni in a blockbuster on a Sunny Sunday arvo at the G.
5 against the Bombers the following Friday night in that famous drawn match.
Slim slim and grim pickings after that.

Stuart Edwards and Brett Evans looked they were going to be stars at one time

Stephen Ryan in his first year kicked about 30 goals from a wing.
Next year dud and nothing much from thereon.

Brett Evans was merely a cult figure with his birds and tats and what nots.
At 25 and coming from Springvale he was merely going to be a part player at best
although he played all games from round 7 onwards in 1998.
His moment of glory came in Round 16 that year against the Bombers in the game Sheeds broke idiot Reynolds coaching record when he kicked a 50 metre sausage roll after the siren to level the scores. Struggled to I guess emulate the weekly senior footy he saw in 1999.

Argh I can still remember that game from 98. Ended up costing us a spot in the finals  . 20 points up halfway through the 3rd quarter and then from memory we kicked just one goal for the rest of the game.
 
Nathan Bower would count as a one game wonder per year. Stayed on the list just to play as a tagger on Peter Matera lol.

David Bourke once kicked 4 against the Saints in 97.

From the distant past I think it was Bill James who debuted in the 1920 GF and then accidently shot himself in the foot and never played again. 1 game, 1 flag.

Nathan Bower would count as a one game wonder per year. Stayed on the list just to play as a tagger on Peter Matera lol.

Used to wonder what the hell he used to do to make Matera so upset.  Not a bad player to put on your resume to say you beat consistently.
Other than that, luvely bloke is our Nathan

Zantuck had a couple of cameos up forward. 5 goals against Port and 4 against the Pies using his soccer skills.

Bower just had the pace to stick with Matera on the wing and not let him get away on his own. Nathan must have driven Matera mad because Matera could tear the best players in the comp to shreds yet some fringe Tiger wearing 22 had his measure.
