On a serious note.
The TAC is not the only league we will be looking at !
Its fair to say that our current list is full of players that have flaws or faults in there game. Something you cannot change when a player reaches the age of being drafted although there are some people who believe with a good coach you can change these faults, wrong ! You will never change Chaffey for instance kicking the ball to the opposition as his decisioning making skills are poor so the coach would make little or no diffrence although you could play him in a different spot on the gorund where he doesnt get exposed by his faults, as you would of seen recently with him drifting down forward, similar with Zantuck.
As for kids in the upcoming draft, everybody is aware that Travis Cloke could play AFL now , he is big and mobile, takes contested marks and more importantly, kicks the bloddy thing straight. Although he is about 70% certain going to the pies, you never know what will happen.
I would think that we will use our draft picks with young players early in the draft with the vision of looking at players who have improved in other leagues who intitally played at TAC in past years. I wouldnt think we would get any more Flecthers,Nicholls and co. Once bit twice shy

There is a rumour going around about Hodge, is there any validity about this and if there is are we strongly considering him as a possibility. Would our recruiting team consider an early draft pick in trying to pick him up?

Would think that Hodge will stay where he is.
Might be a plan by his current Manager to extract more money out of the Hawks. :o
Also beleive that Crawford is considering giving it away if not at the end of this year, certainly at the end of 2005, so Hodge will be a priority at the Hawks you would beleive

You can’t hide them forever though.  Those sorts of players kill a team.  Regardless of where they are played, if they make ordinary decisions and skill errors under no pressure then what would they be like under finals pressure?

Thing is, the more of these types a team has the less likely they are to ever get to find out.

Also heard something about beck being sacked or let go at seasons end, is there anything in this?

Greg Beck along with Greg Miller and others are currently working on our list for next year.
To sack him at the end of year ? Sack him now if he wasnt required.

Why would we waste an early draft pick when we could get him for nothing in the PSD.  He's a good player but I wouldn't waste an early pick on him.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

Good, that's what I wanted to hear. But it doesn't sound like Hodge is going anywhere.

IMHO if the tigers keep its first two picks...then our picks must come from:

Deledio
Franklin
Monfries
Eckerman
Griffen

Hopefully in the second round we will be able to pick up one of the ruckman

Wood
or
DeLuca

but they may not be there...

Jackstar...whats your reading of the top the first 2 or 3 Richmond picks?
