Rate a Tiger's year: 14. Dean Polo

Next up is the forgotten Tiger of 2007 - Marco Polo

Deano played 8 matches (career 25) in the first half of the season before being sent to the operation table after the third time his shoulder popped out against Freo. He averaged 14.6 disposals (16th best Tiger), 4.8 marks and 2 tackles per game.

How did we all rate Polo in his injury-interrupted year?

I am ahuge fan

Apart from the injuries which were disappointing I reckon when he was fit he struggled at times for form

6/10

A bit of second year blues this year IMO before the injury but Polo could be the surprise packet next year if he puts his head down over summer. He won't be getting that leopard haircut again that's for sure lol.

yeh i would agree also with his kicking, tends to lack penetration, but i also think he aint quick over the ground, tends to lope with his strides, thats just my perception.

still think he will be a vaulable player,

Brian Royal's RFC player review

Dean Polo

To put it bluntly, after having an outstanding season last year, Dean probably went away and came back ahead of himself. He didn’t achieve the expectations he probably would have liked considering what he did in 2006. This year he ended up having to have a shoulder reconstruction after round 11, and should certainly have a bit of fire in the belly for next year.
