Cousins was charged with possessing diazepam, a brand of valium for which he could not present a prescription, and refusing to undergo a police drugs assessment.

Daniel Kerr was fined $400 in 2004 for forging a script for the same drug.

My daughter takes drugs (medicines, not the other lol) morning noon and night to keep her going.
A funny story while she was on the plane coming back from Scotland.
She had a cold and kept on coughing - couldn't help it.
This woman kept on going tsk tsk and turning around and giving her a dirty look every time she coughed.
Then my daughter brought out her drug bag which is huge and she showed the woman.  More tsk tsks lol
She went to the toilet and on the way back and as she passed the woman, she started patting the inside of her arm as if she had given herself a shot in the toilet.
The expression on this woman's face  :o
Apparently the plane was in fits of laughter.

That's my girl hahahaha  :rollin

Back to Ben - he is the biggest loser of all time.

But if any of you have ever had an addiction, you say you'll always give it up and you do or you don't.  But you do it in your own time and sometimes your successful.  It's something you have to psyche yourself up for and you do it when your psyche is up to it.

In some kind of defence of Ben, to expect him to go to the US and drop a habit like that in 5 seconds and have everyone watching his every move was bound to be disastrous.
He wasn't given the time to psyche himself up for doing something like that, he was just told to do it.

Made matters worse for himself when he wouldn't co-operate with the cops.

Wonder if the two girls in the car were police plants.
Seems no-one's talking about them, so you have to wonder who they are!
The girl(s) were released but yeah it's suss that all these cops just happen to be in the area and pulled over Cousins "due to the manner he was driving" and then separately pick up Chick. Now they've picked up another bloke (non-footballer) who was a passenger in Chick's car who has been charged with possession of cocaine and cannabis. They are also searching Chick's house.

http://www.theage.com.au/news/National/Chicks-passenger-facing-drug-charges/2007/10/17/1192300837196.html

Fair chance they were the strippers they'd been hanging with on the bender.

They left the same place in different cars going different ways, that's why they were picked up separately.

l know several current players & ex players from several clubs who are users
drugs are rife in the AFL
even the 1980 premiership players were accused of taking drugs by there own premiership teammate
most of these drugs are offered to players at parties held by the high profile socialites
some are offered to players by celebrities singers/actors
they then turn to using them when they can to enhance there fun because everyone else is doing it (but me since l quit  ;D) & to take the peer preasure off them from being in the spotlight it takes the edge off cause you know everyone is watching you & you think its ok because higher profile people have said to you its ok
Ben Cousins needs help & people close to him will help him through it
l bet them non perscription drugs come from another person close to him who was taking them by perscription say no more about that  :-\
there are different rules for different fools so many high profile people take drugs at parties even with police in the same room & nothing is done
This is just another little drug issue
l can go to court for the same thing he been charged with & get maybe 2 years loss of licence & $1000 fine & wont even make the local paper
But because Ben is a high profile AFL champion he has lost everything from his woman, his mate through death, his job & cannot work in his trade again for being a deregistered footballer, his licence, & his name will be tarnished forever in history through media which is going overboard l think for a simple relapse in rehabilitation
Daniel Chick has hardly made the papers he also was charged so why not give him some media
what about others involved why dont the media name them as well l just dont understand why
l like Ben Cousins as a champion footballer & hope he makes it back his not 30 yet but l dont like his attitude & that attitude is brought on by drugs

I only heard/read that his house was searched and that he was questioned but released without being charged.

Cousins pleads not guilty in court

Cousins court case has been adjourned to January 21 so he "does not disrupt his drug rehabilitation program".

He's pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer told the court they will defend the charges vigorously because they are without basis.

Cousins has also been deregistered by the AFL.

Chick was released but the passenger in his car was arrested and charged with possessing drugs.

Those first 4 words is one way to get the reader's attention Moi :lol  :wallywink. When I went OS I was glad I had left the Sudafed behind at home when I saw the guns on the German police checking passports lol.

It seems the threat of losing draft picks will still hang over the Eagles until mid-November but the way Andy D was talking it'll be hard for the AFL to impose such a penalty after Andy said the Eagles had done well dealing with the problem  ???.

Well we know publicly of another club we can't mention. At Richmond it's probably the supporters who take valium lol.

Cousins had that same stupid smirk on his face the whole time he was lead to and from court today.

well his only been done for perscription drugs so he might just get a slap on the bum
the good thing about that is you may see Ben Cousins apply for registration for the draft if he took his case to court he could win cause football is his line of employment l cannot see a judge stop a man from working unless he has had a positive drug test under the 3 strike policy which the AFL would have to produce the report
refusing the blood test maybe a 12 month good behavior bond 1k fine
Richmond would go after Cousins as would the other 14 clubs

In the Age tomorrow, an Ex-Eagles' player apparently says he warned West Coast 6 years ago about a drug problem at the club and was told to shup up as they swept it underneath the carpet. On SEN they said more of these kind of stories we come out now.
