There's actually a number of different videos of birds doing this,

i think we underestimate the intelligence of animals while overestimating ours at times

But really, as an animal lover and someone with a streak of misanthropy, I love seeing this kind of stuff whether it be real or not. Animals are very intelligent and that's why they still survive. Many confuse knowledge with intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to learn and aquire knowledge. Majority of humans are far from intelligent as you kind of pointed out. We're taught if we're out of food we can go buy some at the shops. Just pop into any Safeway or service station after 8pm to see the kind of degerates personalities on their hunter/gatherer duties. Animals learn their food is seasonal, predators learn how to hunt. Birds that don't fly north/south for the winter or elephants that don't migrate with the herd for the rains find they won't make it to the next season. As children we're all taught that animals such as lions and tigers for example are dangerous. The bloke in that video obviously wasn't very intelligent and it was just natural selection doing its part. It's man's 'intelligence' that is its biggest downfall. Our most intelligent moment in time was the moment we learned and mastered agriculture (and the most ironic thing is that it was the cause of much unintelligence lol). We learned when to plant crops, when to harvest, and when to hunt. Though immediately from that moment it helped mankind cheat Darwinism by allowing bludgers to live and pass on their lazy genes. It also unintelligent groups to convince themselves that the cause for all this was some imaginary friends in the sky.
Very well put dwaino.
I agree with you 100%. Here is a classic example of lack of intelligence. I watched RBT last night and this guy had no license and had actually never had one because he had been fined continually since being a learner and amassed over $100,000 in fines. He was on methadone and had hooch in the car. He avoided the RBT by driving off the road and into the bushes and when the police caught up with him and asked him why he was avoiding the RBT he said "I wasn't avoiding you, I was driving in here!".
Now that was hillarious but the real frustrating part is, He had a shopping bag full of prescription drugs which were all his because he had a heart attack. Now for the hard workers of this world, those drugs he had would have cost us over $300 a pop but for him, the out of work deadbeat, drug addict who continually puts lives at risk by driving under the influence, they cost him a grand total of $30.00!!!
Another classic example of today's society cheating natural selection by allowing these deadbeats to continue living. Do gooder's will say oh but he is down and out and needs all the help he can get. Yeah sure until he drives along the road one day and kills innocent people.
The magistrate fined him $1500 and gave him some community service hours. So all they did was add to his already massive fine total which he will never pay.
Now here's the kicker.....He was caught driving again the following day and all the magistrate did was fine him another $800.00
This world is seriously stuffed up!
