Who has permission to train with us?
« on: November 06, 2007, 07:22:40 PM »
Does anyone know yet who has permission to train with us?

I think Pfeiffer from the Crows is one. Don't know any others though.

Last year we had Jake King, Nick Carnell, Shaun Huy and Sam Robertson all from Coburg, James Podsiadly, Limbach and of course Kingsley train with us before the drafts. We eventually picked up two of them.

I thought he was staying over at Freo and training there...

From what i've read, if he can knuckle down a bit, he could be a real gun.

That's what I thought too wayne. Freo offered him and their other young delistings a chance to be put on their rookie list. Collard was rated highly as a junior.

Lachlan McKinnon is training with us. Was a Bumbers rookie I think.

Lachlan McKinnon - Essendon
182cm - 84kg
Born with 3 arms and only one leg, McKinnon has overcome adversity to amazingly prosper in the sport of Australian Rules. With his unique hopping action, McKinnon also has the uncanny ability of fending off would be tacklers with two arms, whilst keeping possession of the ball with his third hand.

LOL where did you get that info from wayne?  :lol

McKinnon use to play for Coburg.

Height:     206cm
Weight:    107kg
Date of birth:    15/12/1986

Gary Ayres' 2007 season preview:

Lachlan has had 12 months out of the game due to shoulder operations and he has been a work in progress. He has committed himself whole-heartedly and has been truly professional in getting his body bigger and getting it right for the rigours of playing in 2007. He has probably really benefited from being out of competitive work for 12 months as he has really improved all aspects of his game.

One young ruckman, KPP and the rest smalls. Silvester should at least be given a shot as a rookie. Not sure if McKinnon is capable of making it but we should also have a young ruckman as a rookie too. That'd leave two spaces left for smalls although I think the club said we'd be rookieing Cam if he doesn't get picked up in the National or PSD drafts. I'd rather give a youngster like Gazzo a go who has shown promise a Coburg rather than Cam who we already know has AFL deficiencies and who'll turn 23 in January.

Interesting that Neville is training with Melbourne. Perhaps we've already told him we're not interested.

lol ... our recruiting has been a joke for years infact its been absolutely abysmal ... but since you think your a super recruiting strategist then what can we say ... Hopefully there wont be anymore draft fiascos down the track. By the way hows the PSD selection process going ... gonna have a big name ready for Tigers supporters  ;D or will it be the same as it always is with us lol  :P  Anyway when we finish bottom next year and we get the first 2 picks in the draft then we'll make for lost ground. No worries at all people. 2011 here we come!
