Tigers set for Mike Smith Cup
Fri 9 November, 2007
richmondfc.com.au

The Richmond Football Club will take on the AFL All-stars and celebrities in the annual Mike Smith Cup one-day cricket match, to be held on Sunday, November 25 at G.R. Bricker Reserve, Moorabbin, from 1pm onwards.

It again shapes as a terrific afternoon’s entertainment for the whole family, with a sporting memorabilia charity auction, a $2000 ‘last ticket out’ draw, a giant slide, show-bags, face-painting, police and fire vehicles on display, plus plenty of great give-aways, to go with all the exciting bat and ball on-field action.

The Tiger team will be captained by dual Jack Dyer Medallist, Joel Bowden, while the All-stars line-up will be led by 2007 Collingwood Best and Fairest winner Travis Cloke.

Entrance is by gold coin donation, with free parking available in the adjoining athletics track.

All money raised from the auction will be donated to the ‘Tigers In Community’ program.

They said they were going to do this last year.  I think Omega must get something out of the day because the cup is named after a former player of theirs.

I've been nearly every year - a great day out!

Are bouncers allowed against the AFL all-stars? One way to soften up the opposition for next season lol.

Bump

Just a reminder that the cricket match is on this Sunday at G.R. Bricker Reserve, Moorabbin, from 1pm onwards. The ground is just off South Road.

I didn't stay for the match.  Only went down to get a couple of pics and left.  But they were kind of in the middle of the ground so I didn't get any good ones :-(
Looked like it would have been a great day - weather terrific! - I had other things to do unfortunately  :(

And has lids grown? He looks taller than Jack in those pics and and with bleached hair ???
