A I must say that Kane Cornes has stirred this latest batch of insults. I hope us Richmond supporters everywhere give it to him to make him pay... More importantly I hope the RFC ban media with him to teach him a lesson. Make SEN sack him.

Cornes being an idiot again. If there's a slight chance Rance might return then the rest of the team aren't going to farewell him for good.

On the money  :shh
Very possible to do a 2nd half of the season comeback after doing a "preseason" during the first half.

Rance is still on our list as he retired after the final list lodgement date. So we don't need to redraft him if he did return.

ps. On Bomberblitz, Essendon fans have a thread wanting to poach him off us for nothing :nope :wallywink.

Decided to side with bigfooty rumours rather than straight from the horses mouth.

Just about sums up his journalistic integrity.

What a pathetic little person he is.

Cornes is pretty smart really - hes a shock jock and he knows exactly where the "click bait " is.

I would poke the bear too if I was in his position .

Like all commentators who play the 'controversial statements means publicity & ratings' card, Cornes knows we're now the biggest bear in the forest to poke too. Most members and biggest crowds in the country = biggest reaction to his click bait.

No one complained more about us playing our final 7 games at the MCG than Cornes.

Before that it was Lynch coming to Richmond.

Now it's the Rance conspiracy .

I genuinely don’t get why people even bother moaning about him. He’s completely irrelevant. He doesn’t move me one little bit.
He’s the Pauline Hansen of the AFL
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

For what it’s worth, I don’t believe Dimma either.

I don’t think anything sinister has gone with Rance, I just think the club and players weren’t overly impressed at Alex walking out 2 years early on a commitment he had made to them.

For what it’s worth, I think he is sorting out the most important things in his life , and football is taking the back seat. Some in the club think if he sorts it out he may change his mind. He may just need  time , why wouldn’t the players give him time and space.

Balmey putting a dampener on the rumours (or is he going the double bluff?):

Rance return ‘less likely’: Balme
Jack Hudson
Herald Sun
January 28, 2020

Richmond general manager of football Neil Balme said any chance of Alex Rance going back on his retirement is getting “less likely”.
Speaking to SEN 1629 Breakfast, Balme said the initial decision was ‘unexpected’.

“It was not so much a shock, but it was a bit unexpected,” he said.

“We thought we’d got to the point where he was able to cope with the things he wanted to do and still play footy.

“But he decided that he wasn’t.

“You can’t talk someone out of that.

“We have to respect what he thinks.

“We’re still in the back of our mind hoping he might think about coming back, but that’s getting less likely I think.

“He’s such a strong-minded kid that he doesn’t tell you things for the fun of it.”

Rance played his 200th game in round one of 2019 and tore his ACL, and was expected to make a big return in 2020 to help the Tigers with their premiership defence.

Balme added it’s something the club has to cope with.

“So we have to accept the fact that maybe it is the end for him,” he said.

“It’ll be disappointing because he’s such a wonderful player.

“But in the end as a club, you’ve just got to cope with it if it’s something the individual wants to do.”

Rance finished his career as a five-time All-Australian, a one-time Tigers best and fairest and a premiership player.

If Balmey is correct and there's no reason to doubt him here then the Club moves on. Plan B is to look at the midseason draft if Rance is eventually removed from the list and then target a free agent in October with our freed up salary cap space.
