PSD and rookie predictions
« on: December 07, 2007, 04:35:57 AM »
So who do we predict will be our PSD and rookie picks on Tuesday?

PSD: ?
R1: ?
R2: ?
R3: ?
R4: ?

As a help here is the list of who is training down at Punt Rd:

Daniel Boyle (Murray Bushrangers); Ian Callinan (Central Districts); Clayton Collard (East Fremantle); David Fanning (Port Melbourne); Joe Gazzo (Coburg); David Gourdis (Subiaco); Andrew Horne (Coburg); Cam Howat (Richmond rookie); Jarrod Silvester (Coburg); Will Sullivan (Western Jets); Chris Varsamakis (Eltham); Chris Waller (Beaumaris); Trent Zorner (Eastern Ranges)

We also had Pfeiffer training with us who may or may not be in the running or we could surprise and go with someone training with another club (like Alistair Neville).

Predict? Don't know. Who do I want? Well from my very meagre expertise in the area and from what I have read over the last couple of weeks I would like this.

PSD: Gourdis or Collard (probably Gourdis)
R1: Gourdis or Collard (depending what happened in the PSD
R2: Callinan
R3: Sullivan
R4: Gazzo or Horne

That's hard when you get to the bottom picks. Really only guessing at pick 3 and 4.

really tricky this one

i'd say:

PSD: Gourdis
Rookie 1: Collard

everything else would be too hard to predict

Isn't the PSD for delisted AFL players only?

Mopsy IIRC any player who was unsuccessful in the National Draft is eligible for the PSD and Rookie Draft but I could be talking through my hat.

tiga's right Mopsy. Remember we picked up Matty White from Calder in the 2005 PSD when he was overlooked in the National draft. A way of making sure the Club doesn't miss out on a kid in the rookie draft if the Club has two kids in mind it wants.

As above but sway PSD & R1 picks around

well mine isnt a prediction but i would be happy if the bulk of our selections included :

guordis, collard, callinan, horne, gazzo, a young rookie KPP and a young rookie ruck. neville and silvester would also be ok but still prefer the others.

i'd like to see a list of players who missed the National Draft. Arrowsmith, Sullivan, Renton etc they'd all be strong possibles to as the actual delisted list from other clubs is a very drab read which is good news for us as we will most likely not pick other clubs rejects and go young, young, young and young (other than Callinan of course)  :thumbsup
