ESSENDON Football Club is aiming to challenge for an AFL premiership inside three years, according to former Merbein and Imperials footballer and Bomber coach Matthew Knights.

So the bombers are going to win a flag despite their current spine retiring or on the verge of retirement over the next 3 years .

throw in Lucas and Lloyd in 3 or 4.
You just hope Knighter is not just being "told" by senior club officials to open his mouth in order to sell memberships, but when all goes awry and the fans will demand someones blood he will be made the scapegoat of the footy club and told to pack his bags 18-24 months from now.

Because of what happened to Sheedy, Knighter isn't going to have much of a honeymoon if at all if the Bombers struggle early on.

The term Sacrificial Lamb comes to mind for Matty Knights.
I really feel for him but not the Essendon Footy Club.

Yep nicely put HT74. Knighter has inherited all the structural problems with that list which is going to get worse before it gets better yet the Bombers want a flag within 3 years. Even last year Hird let out they thought they were a top 4 side  .
