Round 1 sides 2005 to 2008
« on: January 03, 2008, 07:13:25 PM »
Been looking at how the round 1 team has changed under Wallace. 9 Tigers gone from his first side in Round 1, 2005 when the Cats flogged us.

Under Wallace there's been 5 or 6 changes to the round 1 side from the year before. Obviously Krak, Paddy and Gas won't be there as they're gone. So what other changes do you think Plough will make?

Round 1, 2005 - 13 current Tigers

B: Roach, Gaspar, Kellaway
HB: J.Bowden, M.Graham, Newman
C: Tivendale, Coughlan, Campbell
HF: Pettifer, Richardson, Deledio
F: Krakouer, Simmonds, Brown
R: Knobel, Tuck, Johnson
I:  Hall, Chaffey, Hyde, Jackson

Round 1, 2006 - 17 current Tigers (6 changes from R1, 2005)

B: Raines, Gaspar, Kellaway
HB: J.Bowden, Schulz, Newman
C: Tambling, Coughlan, P.Bowden
HF: Pettifer, Richardson, Deledio
F: Krakouer, Pattison, Brown
R: Simmonds, Tuck, Johnson
I: Rodan, Foley, Hyde, Tivendale

Round 1, 2007 - 19 current Tigers (5 changes from R1, 2006)

B: Raines, Gaspar, McGuane
HB: J.Bowden, Polak, Newman
C: Polo, Foley, P.Bowden
HF: Pettifer, Richardson, Deledio
F: Krakouer, Schulz, Tambling
R: Pattison, Tuck, Johnson
I: Moore, Howat, Hyde, Tivendale

Can't see Howat in the side because he is a rookie, but other than that doesn't lok like too many more changes. Perhaps 1 of McGuane/Tivendale/Hyde will miss?

I don't see many changes either.

Howat out, possibly McGuane, Schulz, Moore and Hyde.

From those teams the biggest change over Plough's time has been replacing the backline. Only Joel and Newy still there and that could still change with McMahon and Morton coming in. The forward line is still pretty much intact with Richo, Browny and Petts plus Lids when he pushes forward. We're still waiting for the cubs to start taking over.

Fron last year, Gas -> Thursty, Paddy -> McMahon and Krak -> Browny. Like everyone else only can see the bench changing.

We know Gaspar, Krak are gone

I dont see Howat in that side

Ditto: Hyde and perhaps Moore

So there's 5 changes

Challenge there for Schulz to find a place and hold

Can see Thursfield definitely there in round 1 as well as Morton, McMahon and Gus Graham

It'll be interesting if we can fit Simmo, Patto and Gus in the same side. At least we'll have some proper ruck options if we do unlike last year.

Yep that's right torch. Flogged by Geelong, super-flogged by the Dogs and then run over in the last quarter by the Blues last year.
