What are your expectations for Matty White this year and what would be a good year for him?

whitey looks fit and has decent skills but will only get a game through injuries to other players . doesn't seem to be a match winner or able to change the course of a game 8)

I think the best we can hope for is that Matty becomes a Hyde or Tivendale type BUT is only a backup for injured players, he wouldn't be in the best 22, but would do the job when he gets included though he possibly could be turned into a run with player also, he seems to have the endurance and would probably be willing to sacrifice his game to shut others out.
And you may not think I care for you

Very important season coming I would think. Thought he had a disappointing 2007. Do know he had a really bad ankle injury that he carreid for most of the 2nd half of the season

I think he is worth a punt as a rebouding HBF, has the pace, can kick the thing well and has very good defensive instincts. a number of people have suggested Newman should go into the mid-filed, then perhaps Matty has opportunity down back.

Fringe player who needs to play alot of senior footy to retain a place on the list for 09.
A few lads have gone ahead of him in the pecking order for senior selection and he may struggle. McMahon was recruited as a rebounding HBF so I don't think he can slot there so Matt must add more versatility to his game to press for one of the 22 spots available. Real make or break year as he is a t the crossroads I think.
