Our future most marketable Tiger?
« on: January 09, 2008, 05:20:51 PM »
Just looking through the Tiger auctions page on the RFC site. Stick a No 12 on a guernsey and the price can jump four-fold. Richo's still as popular as ever.

http://integrated.imgecommerce.com/auctionresults/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_image_list&CategoryID=217&search=&siteid=27&orgid=14&cfid=5595197&cftoken=93643027&dts=91200855336

Who do think from our cubs will end up taking over from Richo as our most marketable player?

If Deledio develops into our own 'Brad Johnson' (which, at this stage of his development, is my opinion of where he will end up ) then it could be him, otherwise I think it could be Connors or Riewoldt.

My reasons are that Lids isn't quite as emotive (something that stirs the Tiger public) but if he develops into a full blown match winner like Johnson then it will happen anyway and the other two show enough potential and are certainly emotive enough.

On pure ability Cotchin shows a fair bit but he is still untried v men so wait and see.

P.S.  Thanks for this topic.  It made me review the list again and as the late Big Kev would have said - I'm excited!

I think Edwards might get a look in. There's something mighty special about this kid IMO.
Nathan Foley might have a bit to say yet too. 8)

i have a weird feeling about tambo. just think he's more a natural leader the the other candidates.

He has a very strong grounding in himself, incredibly down to earth when you speak to him and the fact he is a young father also helps him to become a suitable role model.

Has a smile that would make Eric Estrada proud and i think you could market himin that Phillip Michael Thomas (the black guy in miami vice) kinda way. you know the "smart n classy and good lookin too" kinda thing. pout the lips, raise one eyebrow.... get the picture  ;D

If or when he clicks and starts playing consistently well, he will no doubt come into consideration.
