Yet another mediocre footballer at Richmond. No more no less.
We seem to have had plenty of them in this 'Rate a Player' series.

Was disappointed with how he left Richmond.

Even more disappointed to see he is now at Essendon

Rated him more highly than Merenda ;D :whistle :shh :thumbsup

Was an okay tagger at best..................... However I can remember a game on Queens Birthday Monday at Waverley against the Saints where we were 8 goals to 3 in front at quarter time and still had a four goal lead half way through the 3rd quarter.
Prescott was doing a good job on Harvey and even had kicked a goal in the 3rd quarter at the small scoreboard end. (I am a tragic guys I still wonder how we failed to make finals in 98 and the evaluation still goes on) Nevertheless in his infinite wisdom Geischen shifts him off Harvey who was in the midst of back to back Brownlows at the time the Saints kick 12 of the next 15 or 16 and win by 27 points.

To sum up just an average player at best who had poor mentors in his late career who somehow retained a spot on a list due to a handful of good games on much more better credentialled and superstar opponents. Bad coaching did not nurture the development or growth and hence his career fizzled out in Perth. Nathan Bower was another one who fitted that category from the Northey Walls Geisch era.

Geischen has brought that kind of coaching expertise to umpire decision making lol.

Like you HT74, I still wonder how we stuffed up in 98 (and 96). The bye stuffing up our momentum and then losing to Essendon when Sheeds broke Dick Reynolds coaching record despite us being 20 points up halfway through the 3rd quarter. Talk about mentally fragile.

The worst thing about Prescott leaving was we lost him for nothing in return IIRC.

I thought it was a fair trade.

lol.

Given Freo had given away Andrew Macleod, Peter Bell and Matthew Lloyd in exchange for recycled duds who could hardly get a game, we were ripped off  ;).
