Will Wallace save Casey's backside?
« on: August 10, 2004, 05:03:32 PM »
Will Wallace signing save Casey or are people hanging out to nail him at the AGM or still weighing up their options until December?

For at least 2 years i'd expect.

I dont have a real problem with Casey atm.

He handled things well under the pressure of the last few weeks, seems to have Miller onside
and managed to difuse a potentially volatile situation with much aplomb.

Agree with that Jackstar.  If the alternative is Schwab, forget it.

I think congratulations to all parties at this time in keeping their mouths shut while Miller and Co were getting Wallace.
I don't know if it will save Casey - i'm borderline at the moment - but it certainly hasn't hurt his chances.
The money issue is what shiits me and i'm interested in hearing explanations about where we went wrong, who went wrong.
But the appointment of Wallace is going to improve the club's financials through membership etc. and when we start winning games as from next year lol, should transpose to a better financial position.

I guess Casey is the only option at the moment if it's Schwab v him.  But i'm hoping there'll be others on the current board who might decide to run.

Does anyone know Marsh and Rob Turner - heard good things about them.

This appointment should have no bearing on Caseys future whatsoever , not that i am naive enough to believe it
won't..

I am happy enough to have wallace but the fact that Casey agreed to a five year deal is a further question
mark against his name..

God i hope there are some clauses in this contract for a time when things may go wrong..

I don't think that it will save him.

Wallace signing on will be spun by the club as a massive vote of confidence in Casey and Miller. And few will be able to argue against this.

Schwab left his run too late, and when he finally got off his ass, what he had to show was lame.

The only thing that will get rid of Casey is Daphne or Macek leading the push, instead of playing kingmakers.

Why Macek 1980?
He's a good talker, a nice bloke - but what else?
