Tigers' media day on Ch 10 news
« on: March 14, 2008, 05:55:20 PM »
The Tiges were on the Ch 10 news.

* We had an open media day today at the Social Club.

* Browny and Wallace both said in the past we've promised things before the start of the season and haven't delivered. Wallace said because of that and that we finished 16th we've tried a different tact this year.

* Going in with a full strength side round 1.

* Browny said he's full fit, training well and has no probs with the leg. Joked if he can't get a kick this year he'll probably have to retire.

* Browny said we'd love to spoil Carlton's party. It'll be a big crowd with Judd playing.

* Wallace said "Is it Carlton's party? We've guy plenty of guys ourselves who've been waiting 6 months for this too."

Sounds Great! I like their approach, however Wallace`s last statement sounds like a thinly veiled promise to me. One i hope they deliver on. :gotigers

Exactly, i dont mind us coming out strong like that, BUT on our performances over the last couple of years you would think we will get smashed.

I would love nothing more than to beat the Blues next week, but after those comments if we lose we will look like Idiots!!!

No-one will remember those comments within 5 minutes of them being printed/uttered.  Give it a break - the AFL (and by proxy the club) is a commercial entity that has certain obligations and marketing strategies that behove it to make public statements.  As a club we have been extremely quiet and low key over the whole off-season period - exactly what they said would happen - and it will make 2 parts or 5/8ths of f*** all difference when the siren goes and the ball is bounced.  Stop looking for every little thing to have a whinge about and blame the club for.

Why can't the club make comments without everyone analysing them these days.
Getting beyond a joke.
If they're positive they're cocky.
If they're negative, they're defeatist.
FFS, if you really get upset by these comments, you need a bloody shrink.
Although I just think Tigers for Life is continuing on from last year.
No let up hey  ;)

No need for a shrink here.

I would just rather them say nothing and come out and smash the Blues.

There is no need to talk about what we are going to do, actions speak far greater than words.

I just want the RFC to show it on the park not in a press conference.

I dont think this is being negative.

We have nothing to be cocky about, we have been the laughing stock of the AFL for years.
