OUTGOING Richmond coach Danny Frawley believes the Tigers have the list to make a swift rise up the ladder under Terry Wallace, despite staring at a wooden spoon.
Richmond crashed to a 52-point loss to Adelaide at AAMI Stadium yesterday after three tight terms, a pattern typical of the Tigers' season.
Richmond's 12th straight loss made it the club's longest losing streak within a season.
It has lost 14 in a row over two seasons – in 1961-62.
It also means Frawley did not win a home-and-away match in Adelaide during his five seasons as coach.
And if Richmond loses to Hawthorn this week, it will probably finish bottom.
Yet Frawley said Richmond's list had more potential than those of the Crows, Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.
"We look forward to seeing the Tigers really improve and you can improve very quickly," Frawley said.
"Obviously we're going to be in the draft up to our ears and the trading period . . . things can turn very quickly.
"With a new coach, more youth and the experiences the guys have gained this year, it will be good for the supporters going forward."
Frawley, whose team was full of inexperienced players yesterday, said it would be again on Sunday at the MCG against Hawthorn, a strategy that adds to the risk he will end the season with a wooden spoon and 14 straight defeats.
David Rodan, Andrew Krakouer, Daniel Jackson, Brent Hartigan, Kelvin Moore and Jay Schulz were youngsters Frawley earmarked as players of the future who showed promising signs yesterday.
He said the club must find a centre half-forward and key defender
