Excellent.  :clapping   :gotigers

Now even more resolve and determination, if they need more, should be in the boys tomorrow just to hold their spot.  :gotigers

Superb effort by the Burger boys. Great all-round performance but could not help but think that the Cats didn't have their minds at the game.

Brief rundown of what I thought of the Richmond guys

Connors - Solid game from him, he is so quick in what he does it is almost too quick for his teammates. He would handball the ball and the guy who is the target wouldn't even realise lol. Very happy with his progess.  :clapping

JON - Solid game again. Looked quicker in the mind, didn't take forever to dispose of the ball and kicking was suprisingly clean. In one passage of play showed great vision and skill. On the wing, ducked around a few players and delivered beautifully to Shelton.

White - Probably best on ground. Ran hard and fast. Was in everything. In the mix for a recall next week

Tivendale - Don't like him but credit where due. Was very good today. Found heaps of the ball, ran hard and disposal would be amongst the best today.

Morton - Started like a house on fire, was it 3-4 goals in the 1st qtr. Faded a bit after that but was still a good contributor. Good skills, good mark overhead and good size.

Riewoldt - Very classy performance from Jack. Did everything you want from a key forward. Kicked goals, took strong marks and straigthened the team up.

Silvestor - Looked slow and lumbering, not his best day

Cartledge - Suprisingly good, strong in the ruck contests and got a fair bit of the pill around the ground.

Edwards - Quiet day from him. Didn't see him get too much of the ball

Collins - Very impressed by this young fella. Only slight but geez he is hard at it. Found a fair bit of the pill and save for one turnover kicked the ball very well. Seemed very assured in his skills

Apologies if I have missed anyone

Well Coburg will probably be premiership favourites after today although Geelong is a different side compared to last year. I was very impressed with our tackling and team pressure. We also didn't take any crap and made sure we let Geelong opponents all about it.

Well the pressure is on the 22 tomorrow to perform as 4 or 5 have put their hands up today. I agree with most of Bluey's assessment.

Morton - A lazy 7 and a class above this level. Just too smart for his Geelong opponents.

Jack - Still occasionally goes for marks from behind when close to goal but hard to fault a 6 goal game. Lead well across HF and good hands. Like Morton a class above. The question mark is on his pace which isn't tested in the VFL. Vying for Cleve's spot.

White - Best game I've seen Matty play. Used his pace to break away from contests or get on the end of receives. Disposal was decent which has been question mark on Matty.

Tivs - cops it but everytime he's played at Coburg he's turned up and worked his backside off compared to others his age in the past who have sulked. Got a heap of it across half-back and pushed forward for 4 goals as well. Disposal was still Tiv like at times but he had a good game.

Connors - Solid. Clever vision dishing off by hand in congestion to running teammates. A better accountable game defensive wise too IMO.

Collins - liked his game. Solid. Looked to have plenty of time out there when he had the ball.

Cartledge - This is probably his level but would be in our top 3 today. Dominant ruckman on the ground and linked up well with our smalls. Ronaldson who?

Edwards - didn't do much today in a dominant side. The talk at training as to why he isn't in the seniors looked on the money today. Looked a fraction sluggish compared to his usual self although he laid some top tackles.

JON - Quiet early. Did more in the second half. A mixture of the very good and the brain fades.

McGuane - thought he struggled 1-on-1 today.

Silvester - Solid in what he did when the ball was in our defence.

As for the Burger players Shelton, Fortunato, Carnell and Morris on debut were good.

Young john morris looked very good in the clinches. Liked his game a lot. Hard at it and disposal is tidy. Reminds me a lot of his older brother Dale

Johno Morris was fantastic today in the backline, always gives a great contest.

Great win by the boys today, everyone was very happy and pretty much all players contributed.

Cogs was in the rooms at half time and is hoping to play next week.

Go the Burgers  :thumbsup

I don't see JON making it and still can't believe he was rated a first round pick but he wasn't the worst out there and I can think of four good passes to leading teammates. When he went for the first option and didn't hold onto the footy he was okay.

Good stuff. Did Cogs just have a slight hammy TFL?

Not too sure on Cogs MT, just know he is hoping to get out there next week.

Agree on some of the comments about Collins, he looked pretty good today. Would like to see how some of these kids go under a little bit more heat.

Coburg jumped the Cats big time today and really set the standard. It will be interesting to see how some of our younger kids go when they are required to lift another gear when a game is in the balance.

Hopefully they can perform like today :thumbsup

Cheers TFL. Yep the Burgers were ferocious at the footy from the start. Gang tackling and putting their bodies on the line. Great to see.
