The need for speedRohan Connolly | March 29, 2008 ...there's already one conclusion about this year, and perhaps the several following it, which seems incontrovertible. That the footy we watch is going to be quick.Bloody quick. In a game which can veer from fad to fad, speed is becoming a constant premium, AFL football's "new black".Everyone's doing it, everyone's talking about it.Not just leg speed, but speed of ball movement, speed of decisionmaking. And the ante continues to be upped.http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/the-need-for-speed/2008/03/28/1206207414277.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap1

There's an article in the Age today about the 'Need for Speed' in modern footy.QuoteThe need for speedRohan Connolly | March 29, 2008 So who do you ppls think is our quickest Tiger taking into account leg speed, speed of ball movement and speed of decision making? Don`t know about decision making but Kingy did win the Grand Final sprint last year.

Foley and Kingy are the quickest with the ball IMO. They can hold their speed while bouncing the ball with their lower sense of gravity.
