The verdict appears to be as gutless as the hit  :banghead

He was going to be out for about 6 weeks so in effect they've given him 1 week

:gobdrop struth that's harsh ::)

yeah it was worth more but who cares really. half the stuff that the eagles have done in the past has gone unpunished so lets move on.
i dare say if it was a melbourne club he wouldve gone for 10 no question.
they seem to have a soft spot for sydney, eagles and anyone interstate.

now hope we can move on.

He misses our game - That's all I care about ....
Maybe our luck is changing, they usually comeback against us in these and other situations  :cheers

Yep that's the main thing for us. He most likely would have returned against us if it was just the wrist keeping him out.

The AFL will be happy Sydney doesn't play the Eagles again this year. The draw is weird as we play Freo again in round 20 but most of the other matches are different to those in round 4.

Round 11  ;D WEST COAST vs SYDNEY  ;D
as l said to a few mates, if the umpires were doing there job it would not have happened. Staker was grabbing & pestering him all that quarter
Hall just did what a few FF will do in future  ;D its not the 1st & wont be the last big hit

LOL I didn't even bother to look that early at the draw :wallywink as Hall is suspended until round 12. Well that explains the 7 weeks. Hall can play the week after that game.

Yeah l knew you over looked it MT it just another way the AFL has stuffed the game up
every team should play each other at least once right through before playing them again
we got the same against Essendon with 2 close games Round 9 & 16

getting back on track read a peice this morning in the Herald/Sun by Dermie about how FB niggle the crap out of FF & hold them & the warning the players give out before the big strike
The sadest part in the article which is true & l heard about this through many levels of football is that the FF's lead towards umpires just so they can see what it really going on with holds. A FF should be able to lead anywhere & not have to feel preasured to lead hoping his going to show the umpires whats happening & thats where this frustration comes from.
l was tagged most of my time in football being a very fast rover but tag was never used it was pure man him up follow him  ;D
This needs to be really looked at for the future by umpires & umpiring panels & also be included in striking cases at the tribunals, not that l'm saying l condone violence,  but alot must be taken into account of the players actions & why, cause most of these cases are done out of pure frustrations cause the game is not be umpired properly
3 field umpires should be able to control & see thier part of the ground instead of all of them focusing the ball in play
in my day there was only 1 umpire & they did a much better job its only the constant rule changes & so many implemented on the game these days where they need 3 just to remember all them rules  ;D just my thought anyway
l have to admit l seen some umpires belted in my days :D some being related to me & l'm thinking beauty he copped it  ;D
l reading in the papers & forums that Hall has only recieved 1 week really & that the league is weak.
Are those people effing doctors or Barry Hall, his wrist could heal & he be back playing within 3-4 weeks, that would mean he got 3 - 4 weeks or it might not heal good at all & he could be out the whole season, injuries like that could even be career ending (Swans Jamie Lawson) for memory but l be going over the top there with Bazza but you never know we aint doctors

PS, l dont have much time for Dermies dribble recently his lost it abit like Caro, l met the man many times over the years & admired him for his tuff football, but l have to admit he wrote a good piece this time round

The problem though leading towards the ump is the umps are out of position and then guess whether the hands are in the back or not  :help. Good for the player in front but a joke of a rule.

FBs niggling FFs has been going on since the year dot and the new rules and interpretations have really nobbled the options for the defender now. The main problem is the inconsistency of the umpiring. Prefer them to just let the contests go so we're not ending up with a league full of cry baby forwards like Jack's cousin who whinge and get soft frees. Seriously nothing excuses Hall's hit. Richo cops far more and doesn't snap. It's just that Staker picked the forward with the shortest fuse in the league to pinch and niggle.

Thats what l like to see is the rules change back to allowing a muscled contest of the ball, a show of strength.
In the back ?? what is it l cant put my hand on your back but l can shove you out with a forearm, watch Shannon Grant (Roos) his a expert at this & gets away with it but its bantant push in the back, the rules are not good for our game

Richo well his been frothing from the mouth this year its only a matter of time before he snaps completely if he gets another bad decision like against Carlton, its only a matter of time, his a huge big pussy anyway but his on the boil  ;D
Richo is one of the league most hardest done by FF l have ever seen.

But about Big Bad Bazza l loved every minute of it, its was gunna happen with stupid rules put inplace by Stupid people (Mick Malthouse phrase) anyway what happened to Mick when he said that ? did he cop a fine or they let that one flybuy

Yep it's laughably consistently inconsistent that interpretation.

Eddie made poor old Mick get on his knees, put his hands together and beg the powers that be to forgive him to escape a fine ;D.

put in on the computer & up comes a young Bazza from his kickboxing days & sure enough he was deadly as ever  ;D his opponant comes at him kicking & Bazza gives him a straight jab & to the canvas he goes  ;D he gets back up gingerly & real mad &  in true kicking boxing fashion attacks madly kicking & Bazza gives him the big straight righthand & this guy crumbles to the floor out cold. He is one mighty destructive man when his in the ring  ;D l can't wait for him to retire from football & take up them offers to fight. his going to make more money in Boxing than in his whole career playing football. Customer told me he seen this on a TV show on prime7 & recorded it. l never even thought to copy it Doh cause its worth showing.

They showed that clip on the footy show. Barry Hall was 16 at the time. It's probably up on youtube.
