Wallace on SEN / White in; Jackson out
« on: April 13, 2008, 04:26:46 PM »
* Tempo footy today? It's a balance. Last week we rushed things and it resulted in poor use.

* Starts have been a issue. Finishes have been good. Don't want to be chasing 2-3 goals at quarter time.

* Chuckles when people say we aren't having a go or not playing for the coach. We won the contested ball and clearances last week so our competitiveness has been good. It's been more ball retention that's been the problem. We blew the game in the first 1 1/2 quarters.

* We play Will around FB so depends where Pav plays. If he plays high then our CHBs will get the job. If close to goal then Will will get him.

* Whitey playing. Daniel Jackson out.

* Plough said Whitey, Edwards are playing as we needed the run in the hot conditions.

l dont know why White was dropped after the Collingwood game, l thought he done some good things to retain his spot.
Against Fremantle again White played a good game & took the opposition on breaking tackles, l think his strong body is what we need in the side, his fast & has a go  :thumbsup what did everyone else think  ??? of his effort on Sunday

White has a genuine work ethic, plays with passion for the guernsey and some pace.

Needs to work on the kicking skills when at top pace, where he could take a step or to balance when kicking at goal or lead-up target (could be an experience thing at AFL level because he appears to convert OK at VFL level).

White could do worse then glue himself to Foley about finding a new level in his game because his attitude is fantastic and is infectious to Tiger fans in the stands.

I was watching White and he is Foley in overdrive. That guy is just so quick. He should have had 3 goals on Sunday and if he had managed that he would have been more damaging than Foley. I don't think I have ever seen him get caught. He seems to only have one speed and that's flat out! He needs to learn when to use his blistering pace and when to slow down to 90% and show a bit of control. If he can do that he will be a very good player.

Of course he may just be the worst kick I have ever seen and it has nothing to do with how fast he is going. If that's the case then he's a waste of space. lol.

I think with Whitey it's just that he needs to steady on the last few steps. Alwyn Davey showed how to do it on Friday night. Sprint and bounce all the way until you are in range then take the throttle off to steady and slot it between the big sticks.
