Gotta say I was rapt with the side and how it played in 2001.

No false dawn that year for me, it was exciting to watch. The false dawn didn't hit me until the 2nd half of 2002.

Agree FF, I also enjoyed every minute of 2001. I just didn't feel it would last for some reason and unfortunately it didn't.

i hear ya, but the way we have played the past 2 weeks has been a better stamdard and more exciting game style than 2001, and also less predictable than 2001

2001 was a good side, we got beaten by Brisbane in Brisbane in the preliminary final who won the next 3 premierships.
we have proved nothing yet & could collapse for the rest of the year, dont start blowing horns until we reach the finals

Of course Richo is going to deny it.
Would beleive Caro is on the money.
Richo is employed by the RFC , he has to deny it.
mail was right in regards to senior players not happy.
One was quoted as saying, ""this is worse than frawley days""
Ummmmmmmmm
Feel free to P/message me if you want to know who ;)

Lets believe the journalist - people who write stories in newspapers have no motive at all to see the story before the facts get in the way. My mummy told me that right after she explained that I was born in a cabbage patch.

If you had any balls, you would name the player publicly and that player would sue the pants off your arse to shut you up once and for all.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

agree Fish.
2001 was a fantastic year.
We got beat in a prelim by a team that won 3 flags in a row, and probably the team of the decade.
who will ever forget the final at the g when we beat Carlton.
great win :thumbsup

Don't want to be a party pooper but I seem to recall Koutta doing a number on us and going down, they had to take SOS off Richo and game over - and we got seriously pumped in the pre final - it was all over by quarter time - and poor old Danny thought we could top up with a few ageing trades and before we knew it we were gone for 10 years -  :banghead

I was pretty happy with that whole season but I'll never forget the total outclassing in the prelim.  I had an inkling we may have been playing above ourselves after the 1st final v Essendon and this was hammered home 2 weeks later.  Nothing came as a surprise in the next 4 years after that.  It seemed such anticlimactic shame cheering Brodders off for the last time after a comprehensive defeat in such an important game.  :'(

I enjoyed 2001 too (what I saw it as I was OS for part of it) but that semi-final was one of the worse finals ever played (at least it was on tv). Grinding footy at its best. Wasn't it just 4 goals kicked by us after quarter time? :P. If the 70 point floggings in the other two finals weren't are sign we were miles away then that SF should have been another clue. Losing Brodders and Benny also were big losses in terms of leadership, experience and quality.

The playing group then had the stuffing knocked out of its confidence in round 2, 2002 when Spud came out during the week about how much better and tougher we were compared to 2001 and we got ripped to shreds once again by the Bombers. That was the end of the road for that group but Spud just kept topping up with recycled duds and gutted the whole list :banghead.

Talking about recycled duds, M Graham , K. Kingsley and lets see if the new whipping boy Jordon McMahon can join the group.
We dare not mention the fanstastic recruiting by Miller of Morrison and Weller :shh

Well they do have a motive - to sell as many papers as possible and Richmond FC stories  sell :yep. The journos copped their fair whack last night. Nathan Thompson was great too :thumbsup.
