Keep Edwards in, may of had a shocker but needs to learn on the big stage like Patto, no point chucking him back to the Burgers. Personally hope Cotchin comes in as a pinch-hitter and is played like he is at the Burgers. Won't happen though I know

If King failed his fitness test and couldnt have played, Connors would have played instead of Collins.

I think perhaps Kingy needs a bit of a break. Looks to be getting ahead of himself. Must admire him for taking on the game, but he needs to know his limitations and not try and be a hero everytime he gets the pill

Why do I keep hearing that rubbish?

How can you play Connors when he wasnt even in the emergencies and was sent back to Coburg ressies for being lazy.  ::)

I like the majority of your posts and appreciate the them, but what the hell has you writing off Andrew Collins so much?  :-\

Cause people want Connors, one of our most talented young players currently outside the team to play.

And so do I, when he is match-fit and his mind on the job.

But once again I'll ask something I dont understand.

How can Connors, not named in the emergencies, have been a late inclusion on Sunday?

One of the Saints' weaknesses is their their lack of pace. Hopefully Whitey's jarred knee comes up but if not I was looking for someone who could provide some zip rather than bringing back the same old faces. I didn't think Collins was too far away either.  It won't surprise me if Joel comes back in though.

i think he will come in and the saints will bring the g-train in.

just a thought but he and that milne little rat always clean us up.

its about time we squared the ledger. they will come out firing the saints and if we are not with it from the first minute of this game, we will lose.

Connors has had no preseason. A stress fracture in his foot IIRC wrote it off completely.

A snippett from Sportal

Wallace was reluctant to expand on the selection prospects of Joel Bowden, Kayne Pettifer and Greg Tivendale, all of whom have been looking for form, and tackles, in the VFL over recent weeks.

"They're all selection dilemmas that you go through … and see what’s right for the balance of the team," he said.

I don't think Edwards should be dropped.

That's ok.
I think he's too good for that level too but I don't think it would harm him to get some run in his legs on the ball at Coburg rather than being used sporadically off the bench in the senior side.
If it was another young guy to replace him I'd have no problem sending him back.
He's still very early into his career and the disrupted pre season wouldn't have helped. I have seen enough to know Shane will make it but he needs to be developed well also.

I would keep Shane in for another week given the game is at the Dome and his natural talents will come in handy against the Saints. I reckon we will try to run them off their feet like the doggies did to them a few weeks back.
