Bumpy ride ahead for RFC fans
« on: May 03, 2008, 10:08:58 PM »
Its seems for all the enthusiasm and hard work we still managed to lose a game we should have won. St Kilda were down on players and we still could not finish them off. Unfortunately this is the frustration period in the turnaround of the RFC where being perennial losers has resulted in us not knowing how to win. Why do teams always have the goal of the year, mark of the year or comeback of the century against RFC. How can Stephen Milne kick 7 goals against RFC but seems human when playing against all other clubs.

Its going to be a frustrating season folks, strap yourselves in for a bumpy ride.

I've found that recent bumpiness is generated more by the media wanting to sensationalise than by genuine fan ire.  Most fans are frustrated but recognise where we're at.

Gotta shake your head at some of our kicking though.  Good grief.

Milne played well.  Never been a big fan but had to respect that tonight. I'm pretty impressed with Kel Moore actually.  Was pretty annoyed we kept him at the end of last year but really looks comfortable at this level.

What is baffling is how we are staying in games despite our flaws and dumb turnovers. If we were to start hitting even just half the right targets we don't now we would win by 10 goals most weeks lol. I thought our second half wasn't too bad once we woke up but the first quarter was -> :banghead  :banghead  :banghead. We gifted them all 4 goals they kicked.

Newman's turnover in that 1st quarter was unforgivable.

If Kingy was 2 inches taller and just slightly faster
a) He would've hung on to the overhead mark and Milne would not kicked his 1st.
b) Would've ran down Dal Santo for St Kilda's second goal.
What ifs what ifs. We lost the game. We need to deal with it and move on. I am still gutted but that's footy.

we lost the game by poor foot skills & decision making
going contineuly across ground playing around & overuse
Tackling was pathetic & kicking out from behinds always rubbish
like to see the ball bombed out more often to a contest, How was that kick layed by Newman

This year we are more likely to have closer contests where last year we were comfortably beaten. We are progressing and while this year will prove frustrating in that we will have a lot of close game and probably finish around 10th, next year we should improve again and win the close games and actually make the 8 consistently from that point.

I think the graphs are heading in the right direction  :santa

Yep hopefully no more pathetic 100 point losses  :P. So far the worse loss has been 7 goals and since Richo has been moved to the wing and our intensity increased we've been a show in every game. Big test this week though even if Geelong are just in cruise mode so far this year.
