Does anyone really (and I mean this seriously) care about this game  ??? :help

I know I don't but I've never been a fan od representative footy AFL style...

But this is to me at least a nuffin game....

This game to me has no bearing on anything and if anything may injure a key player to a side and hinder their progress. Just like the NBA all star or NFL all star game it will be a scoring fest so expect to see both teams to kick more than 20 goals each as an advocation to this type of footy and an advertisement of the sport.

Congrats to Simmo, Axel and Richo :clapping. Just don't get injured  :pray.

11 Geelong players playing to just our 3.  Wonder if that will have any affect on our game the following week.

  agree its a nothing game
but congrats to all players included
it is still something to be named in the top players and partake in the occasion   another pic for the album

also gives those with niggling injuries a week extra to come back up

dont really think it will make too much difference to the outcome of the Geelong match

a question   do those who need the game time get to line up in the VFL this w/end?

I'm hoping it is just an exhibition game but you never know once the competitive juices flow. Having the best players out there could lead to a faster  open clean skilled attacking game. It could be very tiring if the players take it seriously and its a close game. We're going to need Axel to be up and running against Geelong.

What it means to be in the Big V
Matt Burgan and Mic Cullen
 3:01 PM Thu 08 May, 2008

The following Victorian squad members spoke to afl.com.au about what it means to be involved with the "Big V”.

Nathan Foley

"It'll be an amazing experience. It's something I always looked forward to as a kid and I used to watch the state games until I was probably about 11 or 12 [years old] until they stopped. I remember watching a fair few games and it was something you always used to go out in the park and pretend you were playing for Victoria, so it was a great experience."

Troy Simmonds

"It's a huge honour. I'm absolutely priveliged to be part of the Big V and I grew up watching the state footy and I was passionate about it and very excited about playing with the best players."

The Vic midfield better apply heaps of pressure or that Vic defence will have its work cut out.

Plough will be watching closely the Richo vs Goodes duel as we play the Swans after the Cats and Bombers.
