yes...I'm with you two! ::)

Anyway back to the topic - Do you believe there is any worth left in players like Bowden, Petts or Tivendale ? Would you trade away Newman, Schulz, Hughes, Meyer or the like for higher draft choices or do you think we wouldn't get as much in return as we would for losing them?

I'm tending more and more do the line of keeping our senior players to take the pressure off our developing youth but only teams have had success with trading away their older stars so who knows?

yes some tough decisions need to be made i feel.
We are not going to give away our draft picks so the only option is to gain draft picks by offloading some or all of the names u have mentioned.
petts i dare say we would get a pick around 30, same for schulz.
meyer maybe around 40.
so we could play a big part in the draft without giving up any of our picks.

newman has had a rough few games this year but i think we have to keep him. its a confidence thing with him i feel and his courage is second to none

Now I know this is very early to be thinking about the years end but...

Knowing that this is the last untouched draft period for at least 3 years and a reportedly strong draft at that -

Should we tank to get a priority draft pick.

I don't see us in a position to tank. We play Essendon and Melbourne in the next 4 weeks so we could be saying good-bye to the priority pick within a month. In any case 2 1/2 wins from 8 games has us on track for about 8 wins for the year anyway. A 12th spot finish would see us with a top 5 pick. I could live with that seeing what's available in the U18s.

Should we attempt to make the eight and then try and trade aggressively potentially loosing some of our more better senior players

Should we attempt to make the eight and then hold onto our more senior players and trust in the development of our youth
Even if we don't make the eight which seems likely we should try to trade for at least another decent pick. Whether we can with picks a premium this year thanks to the new teams is another question.

It's games like today that your first option Stripes of tanking becomes tempting  :-\. Today should remind the club where it's at for those getting ahead of themselves and even if we rediscover some ticker after this spanking in the next 12 weeks, tough decisions still need to be made on same old Tigers at the end of the year for us to keep moving forward with the cubs.

Not buying in on any arguments involving the TANK word. Absolute load of bollocks.

But on the other hand you are happu to cream yourself - 'omg Cotchin is so good!'  ::)

Time to tank.

Morton, Connonrs types should be blooded. Hyde, Pettifer, Bowden never played again.

10 games played. 3 won.
