I'm scratching my head with McGuane - stiff indeed.  Shulz must be playing pretty well so it kind of makes sense - man for man.
i thought Shulz was 'just' last week - but then it was wet!!

Totally agree, Mitch Morton is a classy player that we need in our forward half. He has been doing all the chasing, shepherding asked of him and is stiff to be out. Much better player than Hydey. Luke McGuane also very hard done by.

I obviously have no idea  :rollin

I thought McGuane was very good last week

Surprised about Morton - yeah he had a "so-so" game but it's still a surprise

I thought Morton was close, but McGuane, sheesh I agree, very hard done by, I'd like to know the thinking behind that decision.

In: Pattison, Schulz
Out: Mitch Morton, Luke McGuane
I'm surprised by both omissions ???. I thought Lukey did a good job on Hawkins last week :-\.

Let's hope we aren't now too tall up forward and have no one at ground level to hold the ball in inside our forward 50. Also we have two big blokes and a underdone mid named on the bench. Browny, Richie and possibly Joel and Edwards will be used in the midfield rotations.

I think Houli will be a last minute inclusion for the Dons too!

I think the inclusions are right on the money but I'm surprized with the exclusions.

We need Patto for Simmo. Without a quality backup for Snake too much responsibility and run is expected from the big fella. As was obvious last week, we suffer out of the middle without Patto on board.

Schulz offers us fleibility. He has been excellent in the backline and can trouble the opposition in the forwardline. He was one of the best in Coburgs last game and deserves his inclusion.

Morton doesn't deserve to be dropped. He is a team player who does all the little things - shepherds, blocks, leads to create space, runs down defenders and fights to keep it in our F50. When he is not kicking goals he is still creating them for the team.

Similiarly, McGuane has been steady and consistent. he has provided run and tackled hard. He has been good without being spectacular.

I don't think Hyde should be ommitted. He has been tagging well up until last week, when he came up against, IMHO, the No. 1 player in the AFL - GAblett.

Edwards should be ommitted but I think he has retained his spot because of his cultural ancestry rather than his current form. Polak my other choice for ommission.

Anyway I am pleased with the inclusions and I'm glad it is hard to find someone to exclude on form. Says a lot about the way we are playing and eveness of the team at the moment.

Cant believe that Morton is out, terrible decision. Hopefully he snags a bag full against Bendigo and comes straight back in. He is a class act.

Not that i have anything against Edwards, but surely he would be due to be dropped before Morton on recent form.

Michael being out is good for us also. Some of our young fowards have a chance to really step up this week and do something.

I reckon Morton's making way for Cotchin.  With Shulz in for McGuane it's player for player and last week Cotch was a late change for Patto due to the conditions.

Patto's back cos we need 2 ruckmen - so someone has to make way for Cotch.  It had to come out of Hyde/White/Edwards/Morton - they went with Morton which tells me they probably expect Cotch to play in that forward pocket/flank role for much of the game.

Hyde & White have the motor to run through the midfield - and Edwards seems a touch more versatile than Morton position-wise.  That's the only way I can make sense of it... ???

Makes more sense than what any explanation the rest of us have come up with Obelix. Being the dreamtime game may have got Edwards over the line too. I still think Morton is very unlucky. Last week was the first time in 5 weeks he didn't kick 2 goals (held goalless). Whereas Shane has had a couple of quiet games in the past 3 weeks.

I still think Connors needs more time at Coburg to get his fitness up bluey after no preseason. Although I said that about Cotch last week and he still played lol.

Houli has a virus apparently but Knights said Watson was under a cloud only yesterday so you could be right Stripes about there being a late change for the Bombers.

Because they both play the same position.  ::)

Ok Hyde got smashed but he raped Montagna and Griffen the weeks before so had credits and White's defensive pressure is invaluble ina team that lacks it, very harsh X

THat said I would gone with Patto in, morton/Jack out and left it at that.

Hope it doesnt bite us. . . .
