from the Age

Richmond captain Kane Johnson injured his left knee early in the third quarter and did not return. The club gave a tentative diagnosis of a grade one medial ligament strain last night, which puts him in doubt for the clash with the Crows.

Also noted Simmo limping whenever he came to the interchange bench. Looked to be a knee

Simmo been injured since the Vic game
but Richmond will play him & destroy him, its a thing down at Tigerland to not rest injured players
add Richo to that list his not 100%

As for Johnson his knee will be season ending l think, so we can finally expect his retirement this week & cut all the rubbish
bring up some rookies & see what there got to give

I have no pity for Sugar, I think he's so much over rated that its not funny. And never to see in the Yellow and Black I couldn't give a hoot. I will give a hoorah to this. If it was a real buissiness he would have been don't for fraud for pretending to be an AFL player.

No coincidence we looked a bit better once Kane was off.

He gets the pill but my god it's like he's in slow motion - He's a 70's footballer in the wrong decade.

A Richie Vandenberg decision must be made asap.

Thats just it a bloke like James Hird retires cause he is not giving value to his club
he 10 times better than Johnson over his whole career
Hird could have played this year but made the correct choice, Johnson gets the ball cause he the idiot always calling from behind the play to go backwards thats where his possessions come from

It will be interesting to see who they replace him with. It will tell us a lot about his role in the team.

If he is there to tag, block, shepherd and clear up space for the younger players then I think we will see someone like Jackson step up. If on the other hand they see Johnno as an in and under type someone like Polo or Connors may be given a run. Otherwise Collins or even Tiv may get a run making Lids or White shoulder the inside pressure.

Very interesting - I think we will see Jackson or Polo elevated but I wouldn't be surprized if Tiv rears his head unfortunately.

Confirmed on SEN:

Sugar has had scans on his left knee this morning and it's showed a slight strain in his medial ligament. Terry will talk further about it tomorrow.

dear me TM how right u are.
i was right there sitting in the pokcet with the Tigers cheer squad when i saw Sugar doi what sugar does.
ask for the ball when he was not in the right position to do so.
what happened turnover resulting in goal.
he does it time and time again and i feel for him cause its not nice for anyone to get injured but in a way im hoping its 4 steps closer to never seeing him again.
he is not a leader and ill say that till im blue in the face.

richi vandeberg + lance whitnall = kane johnson

Re: Wallace interview on 3XX

Tivs knows if the door opens (say an injury to Sugar) then he'll still get a game.

Wallace said Johnson may return earlier than expected and should have a better idea of when he will return in the coming weeks.

“We’ll see how he goes. At the moment it’s pretty loose. I think he’ll know more in 10 days just how he’s travelling and whether it’s settled quickly or not. (With) those types of injuries, it is just how they settle,” he said.
