the tank will be on in earnest this week  vs Melbourne

how

Wonemarri and Robertson should have 2 defenders put on them that play loose, very loose.

That should result in about 10 goals.

My apologies for not keeping up with the workings of the snow skiing jet set. Fortunately Im just a boy from the working classes lol.

Wonaemarri will do the business, all we have to do is play him loose and we will be one week closer to the aim.

We always make a habit of either playing teams or getting players back into form.
Perhaps we can also take some pressure of a few of their more senior blokes like Green Yze McDonald McLean and co. Of course the tanking dream can backfire if Melbourne want to ensure they get pick 1 in the draft and hence we blow out to a meaningless 7 goal lead at quarter time and ease to a 5 goal win. Ironically we play them in rd 22 also.
Interesting week ahead for the club, the team, Terry and us fans. Just another week.

Promising performance against the Pies, Stynes has just been announced as the new chairman. The Dee's have a fair bit of incentive.

We rest Richo's knee, we rest Cotchin (he's young and no pre-season), bring in Hyde and have a starting midfield of Tivendale, Hyde and Pettifer, with McMahon and Bowden rotating with them. Comfortable 7-8 goal loss for us.

Carlton are being lauded as geniuses for getting Kreuzer and Judd.

All they had to do is lose.

We tank, cop abuse from opposition fans through the pre-season, get a few wins early and then we sit back and wait for the accolades.

We worry about the perception of what other teams think about us too much. If they think we are mentally fragile who cares unskilled who cares a brothel of a footy club who cares a club going nowhere who cares 2 final apps in 26 years who cares. Now if we lose our last 11 games and tank to get the first go at quality young talent you are afraid of the stigma when in 2 years we may be the best up and coming side in the AFL with the world at our feet. I just don't get it.

Tanking is only one way is saying we are one hell of a hopeless team with no balls. And you have to think of getting the better picks in the draft. Well look at Tanbling, he's proven what. To me not much too i think that blows that out of the water.
Why not hold our heads up straight and play like our song goes. I don't hear it saying we're from tankerland a mob that runs from a fight whenever it can. Cause thats is what it should be if we tank.
Stuff early picks we have yet to do any good with then apart from Lids. And a few others to.

We won't lose. We will finish with 7 wins and pride in hand.

I agree though, we should start to tank. :shh

I am sure Bushranger Carlton fans were as mortified as many of our fans are or will be if we do follow that path and if you think it don't make a difference to the end product then so be it, but getting our hands on pick 1 and most likely 3 or 4 and having another selection in the first 20 will allow us to address deficiencies in our list. We shouldn't worry about any perception that other's have about us nor what our song says at this point in time. This is a once in a 20 years opportunity especially with the 2 new franchises taking all the kids from next year. Its all for the greater good and if we get emotionally connected to all the perceived negative media talk and public talk over what we do then we shouldn't be in a cut throat environment lest we offend someone and do something that's morally incorrect. If finding a loophole in your tax and claiming something you shouldn't is considered a business expense or a rule of business hten think of tanking a s a loophole in the system to get a return that will give us a higher dividend than if we did nothing. That is all I am saying.

Well Hellenic Tiger 74 if you think tanking is okay then go to Carlton where you belong as I think its totally wrong. Stuff top draft picks. We usually pick up crap anyway.
I kwon that if I was in a fight I wouldn't want you on my side as you would be the one running from the battle, cause its easier to run than fight for what is yours.
This is what is wrong with the side its easier to lose than to fight or even put up a half a fight. We once had a good fighting spirit bnut now it looks like all we are after is draft picks. Stuff'em. Lets fight this out to the end of the season and have some pride in what we are.
