Thursty out with a hammy
« on: June 07, 2008, 06:23:57 PM »
Thursty's done a grade one hammy in his left leg. As we know he didn't play after half-time. Out for 1-2 weeks.

Other injuries to keep an eye on:

Cotch - had some knot in his stomach. ABC radio said we'll need to keep an eye out on such a young body.

Schulz and Blingers both copped knocks to a knee but played out the game.

Any doubt on cotchin and he has to miss. The club cant take any chances with Cotchin, especially when he didnt do a preseason. Any doubt and his out for mine.

Cotch wants to go full bore. They had to hold him back when he was coming back from the ankle and slight achilles. He understands more about the intensity you need to play at this level than many of his senior teammates  ::).

Losing Thursty is a big loss. We're starting to get injuries to key players which will test our lack of depth.

he may wanna go full bore, but we have to look after our long term interests. Cotchin is a 12 to 15 year player for us. Missing the odd game in the first season isnt going to hurt him.

I agree but Cotchin will want to play. Anyway let's wait and see if there's anything we need to be cautious about.

Btw by playing he's a threat to the full tank  :lol.

I hate to say it, what depth?  Honestly, we could play any of 32-35 players on our list and get the same result. We basically don't have any true "key" players.  Injuries would've  made little difference to our results in the past 2 weeks. We may've lost by an extra 20 or 30 points in either game but what difference does it make.
We had injuries as as excuse last year - to some extent. Not this week, not last week. Sad isn't it.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”
