Plough was on 3aw before 1pm
* We didn't play well but our fighting spirit got us over the line.
* Up to 3/4 time 10 Brisbane goals came from our turnovers compare to us getting 2-3 from theirs. Agreed with Walls that we made half a dozen turnovers in the 3rd quarter that resulted in Brisbane goals. The third quarter has happened to us a couple of time this year. The opposition kick a few behinds in a row and we trap ourselves with our kick-ins and can't get it past our defensive 40m to centre line. We then try to manufacture things and turn the ball over.
* Bowden - Joel was one of 5 dropped because we need players who could be switched from end to end and applied more pressure. He's always been one to start seasons slowly as he's had knee trouble for 4-5 years and so he can't do a preseason like the others because his knee swells up. Joel went back and took it all well. We can now use him at either end where needed. We started Joel in the last quarter on a half-back stuff but Terry had a change of mind to move him forward as he saw Brisbane being able to clog Richo and Browny up forward if we relied on just those two. He knew Joel was the reliable choice. Towards the end we isolated Joel on young Roe in the goalsquare.
* Finals? - We've got 3 tough weeks coming up so we're in control of our own destiny.
* Haven't heard any more from Miller. Left a txt message again this morning. Terry expects Miller to come back to his Melbourne home before the day is out. Expects to make contact tonight.
* The playing group don't read the papers or listen to talk-back radio on the morning of the game. We made sure to tell them after the game. It is destracting and it's unfair on Rawlings to have his name in the paper when it isn't the case. Rather than replace any current assistant coach we are looking at bolstering them.
* As far as himself - well you can only take people on face value and we've shown genuine improvement. He said it's the nature of footy if you're winning games you stay; if you don't then you go.
* Caro asked Terry if during the game Richo came up to him to talk about what was goign on off-field. Plough said nah it wasn't that. He thought Richo wasn't getting into the game in the 3rd quarter and was getting frustrated with himself. He said he just reminded Richo that he had shown a greater maturity this year and to focus and stick at it.
* We haven't set in stone what we've do at trade/draft time. Sometimes when clubs prize picks highly like in this upcoming draft something pops up so we're not ruling anything out at this stage. Shaw reckons we should go for a big name like Jonathan Brown. Terry said he won't be judging things on this year. He'll stick to doing what is best for Richmond's future over his 5 years.
* Caro asked Terry if Miller had spoken to Cousins but Plough said he wouldn't know.
* We've added little things toour 1-on-1 style over the year and that includes setting your zones. Dome is a skinny ground and you can clog teams up.
* We kicked the ball backwards with 6 minutes to go so the runner was sent out to keep going forward. Stuck Richo, Browny and Joel forward an told the boys to run it out of the midfield and kick it and they'll get the job done. 54 kicks to 27 in the last quarter showed that.
* Caro says we'd be silly to go after Kerr.
