Would we go after Didak?
« on: August 06, 2008, 05:15:46 AM »
Tony Shaw reckons 15 other clubs will chase after Didak as soon as he's offered up for trade. Didak's new contract is $800k over 2 years.

Would you trade for him?

simple answer NO
you dont buy a talented p.i.s.s troughs they are proven failures
they are always 30% fitness behind the rest of the playing group & are first to fall under preasure
Didak is a libility to himself, his had all the help his needed put in front of him last time & he has not overcome his demons.
Players like these letdown thier teammates who are doing the right things, who are chasing the ultimate glory in football "a premiership"
explains the drop in form from them players & its all good cause the SKUNKS are sinking down & so is JOFFA  :lol

A cheap deal from Collingwood??  :lol

They'd want our first round pick, Deledio and Foley.

No, but i'd have a go at Heath Shaw.

Not convinced that Heath Shaw isn't on the table also, I have a sneaky suspicion he might be.

They're both flankers, do we really need any more of them?

No why
will let himself and the club down. Serial failure is Didak.
Enigma's like Didak should be kept well away from Punt Rd.
Getting rid of him is Collingwood's way of not only paying out his wages but paying out for any psychological assistance he may need so that will be the 2nd bill the club would have to invest in.

Psychologically guys like Didak are selfish and a lifeline at another footy club will only re inforce to himself that he can get away with it. After a solid start he will slowly fall into the same habits and traps and if anything the misdeamenours will be more frequent and worse than ever before which would then leave him nowhere with no self esteem no credibility and no reputation and a personal life in disarray as friends and partners begin to distance themselves from him.

Depends really on if he is better than the ones that we've got.

Don't care, flankers can be match winners on their day, but we have far more pressing needs than trading away draft picks for a marginal upgrade on what we already have plenty of. Who knows if one of the young players we have already won't be as good or better than Didak anyway.

Didak won't come cheap.

Collingwood didn't sack him for that very reason. They're expecting a first rounder for him, then they'll have two first rounders to offer J. Brown.

Would look at Shaw but not Didak
