Realistically still a bottom 6 side for the 08 list.

Have been lucky that Port have slide so much this season.

Would expect to continued improvement next year and make the bottom rung of the 8 and become a mid-range side.

We've still missed the finals but not bad finishing the second half of the year with a 8-3 win/loss record. 3rd best in the AFL. Hopefully winning so many games in that time with a mostly young side is slowly building a winning mentality amongst the cubs to take into the preseason and 2009.

Geelong     11  0
St Kilda       8  3
Richmond    8  3
Hawthorn    7  4
North Melb  7  4
Bulldogs     6  5
Essendon    6  5
Adelaide     5  6
Carlton       5  6
Coll'wood    5  6
Fremantle   5  6
Sydney       5  6
Brisbane     3  8
Melbourne   3  8
Port Adel     3  8
West Coast  2  9

We've had a fantastic season
To put in perspective, we were only 1 1/2 games off from coming fourth.
We have so many kids under 21 coming through and getting games under their belt.
And still have heaps of improvement to come in that group as well.
I'm rapt we got Wallace
He has stuck to his guns and not been deterred by "turds"  ;) who said get rid of him.
But having said that, he has to make the finals next year or he's on his way I'd say.
I think he would be disappointed and accept that he couldn't get them over the line.
But that's next year.
This year I'm very happy with.
Sad we missed the finals, but i'm positive they'll be there next year

Moi thats all good and well to point out the positives because there have been some, i admit that.

However, its about making finals and until we do talk is CHEAP. very CHEAP.

when/if we make the finals i will be happy. Not this 9th crap.

We came last last season
Get a grip on reality, Daniel
And I don't care if I talk positive even if we came last, it's better than being negative and destructive just for the sake of being so
Criticism is good if it is constructive but just saying you're only happy if we make the finals is pretty dismissive of everything we've achieved this year don't you think?

We are heading in the right direction and finishing 9th with a developing list instead of an aging group of average players is a huge difference.

This season is full of postives but will mean nothing if we don't make the finals next year.

Luckily for us I think at last we can go into the 2009 season with a degree of confidence rather than blind hope like we have done in the past.

Take time to smell the roses otherwise you'll never be happy

reasonably happy , with a bottom 6 list good effort to finish a bit higher..

still obviously a lot of recruiting/list work to do and a bit worried about going for the short term fix..fingers crossed..

ill be happy when we make the finals.

I am not happy to finish 9th, howe ver i concede it was a good year if your only comparing it to last year but unfortunaltely i compare where we finish and yet again we wont be playing finals.

I hope they bust their gut and make finals next year because if not your mate TW will be out that door so quick he wont know what to do with himself.
