Out: Dean Polo

I really don't understand that.

Polo was directly involved in 2 goals assists against the Hawks. One was in the last very telling - the smother of the Crawford handball and then to get it off to Deledio for a goal.

No clangers either

I know who I would have had as an out and it wasn't Polo :-\

Geez u look @ the side and it is hard to pick.

I would say Cartledge Morton Edwards  or  Jacko before Polo , in that order.

Getting harder as the year goes on and will be even harder next year  :pray Just wouldn't want to lose a player like Polo.

Actually not Jacko, he gives us some balls ....

Hard aint it

Polo hardly demands a spot in the side
Only other contender to go would have been Edwards and he's a pretty different type of player to Foley

Polo > Jacko

Agree

Crap decision.

Agree

Agree - yes we are

 ;D ;D

Seriously...

Having watched the replay - my problem with Jacko is his turnovers and decision making - made some shockers against the Dawks

That's why i would have gone with Polo over Jacko.

I would pick Polo ahead of Jacko too any day. When they find it hard to drop anyone after a win to fit back in one of our few name players, Deano seems to be the one who gets the chop :-\.

I would've thought too they would have included Rance on the emergency bench before Hyde.

Foley return timely for Richmond
The Age | August 22, 2008 - 4:34PM

The return of Foley, a late withdrawal with a hip injury from the side that beat Hawthorn last round, will aid Richmond's attempts to maintain that aspect of their game as a strength.

"Nathan's our best clearance player, so it's extremely important that he's playing this weekend," Royal said.

While Foley did some extra one-on-one work at Richmond's brief final training session on Friday, the club was in no doubt he would take his place in the side.

"He's trained all week and as far as we're concerned he's definitely in," Royal said.

The Tigers are keen to see how Cartledge, a former Essendon player who came off the rookie list to make his Richmond debut against the Hawks, fares against Sandilands.

"Sandilands is having a real dominance in the ruck and from that their clearances have improved as well.

"Certainly (Troy) Simmonds and (Tristan) Cartledge, our ruckmen, have really got to be strong this week against Sandilands, not to give him the dominance in the ruck to allow their midfield area to clean up around the stoppages."
